Smelled like sewage (and I came home to Canada with that smell too). It took room service 2 hours to bring us water one night. It was also impossible to book a restaurant on the resort without paying an extra “fee” even though it says it’s included. Food just okay.

believe the other bad reviews — it was as bad as people say. we stayed here for a wedding. booked a swim up pool room which was the best option. our friends had the jacuzzi room and they said it was moldy and dirty they didn’t even get in. our tub was dirty, mold every where, the shower was overwhelmingly stinky, found a spider in our bed. not only was the room outdated it was straight up dirty. you can have old things but still keep them clean. we could check out of here fast enough. the workers were also some of the rudest people i’ve encountered at a resort. so much attitude and we watched them repeatedly serve white guests before us. we swam up to the bar and the bartender took orders from 4 white people groups that came after us. stay away unless you love the smell of mildew.

For me everything was good. I like location of pools, ocean, beach, bars and restaurants, stores, everything is walking distance. All property is clean and neat. It is not a new resort and something needs renovation but it did not affect my stay!

This is a beautiful resort. It is large without seeming cramped with many pools and restaurants The food is very good from the buffet to unique restaurants. The vastness of the resort could definitely be a problem for those with mobility issues. There is a lot of walking involved! This was not clear to us when we booked and unluckily or maybe luckily my husband did not make the trip due to illness. He would have not been able to get around the resort at all due to COPD. If you want to get your 10,000 steps a day in, this place is wonderful.

We visited to attend a wedding of our friends which was hosted at the resort. The food was decent, but beverages were cheap liquor with tons of sweeteners. The cleanliness and upkeep of the property was horrible. The kitchen was filled with roaches; the bar staff would throw cups into a lake of water and reach in to grab them with their bare hands to pour you a new drink as if they were clean. My two year old spent the first night vomitting everywhere, and was sick most of the rest of the trip presumably from food poisoning. When asked to change our sheets due to the vomit, we discovered one day later that all had not been changed and there was still vomit on some of them. But the biggest downfall by far was the service. check in was a nightmare and our room wasn’t ready. we were told we had a butler with our room and that he would contact us. we gave our number to three people. We never heard or saw our butler until 36 hours into our stay. Room wasn’t stocked with dishes or glasses. When we asked our butler he brought us two glasses. maids took them and didn’t replace them. was pretty much like this the entire trip. No one knew when or where places were and were open, couldn’t even get a straight answer to find bathroom. Every room service order was screwed up, not on time, missing items. Every time we brought up issues it was “that’s not my job.”. we spoke to a couple from Indiana who had been there every year for 10 yrs and they told us never again

Pros: Great food Friendly and responsive staff The wide variety of pools with warm water Great beach, some seaweed but not so much that it would ruin experience. The staff at the kids club was engaging and caring. The activities were fun for the kids. Early check in is an option. They wont give you the room but will let you use the facilities and provide with a nice space to change. Great common areas! Cons Weird smells. If you took the stairs near the elevator it smelled and was always dirty. Some areas at the buffet had weird smells avomboantion of drainage and cleaning supplies we assume. Some outlets in the room did not work, the shower clogs if you took a long shower creating vast water accumulation. The kids club ends at 5:40pm Impossible to get a reservation at restaurants. We stayed 8 nights and could only book twice. TRANSPORTATION is expensive!! And its not easy to leave the property. Taxi rides if booked at hotel start at $55 dollars one way. We managed to book elsewhere for $40 which isnt a big difference. When we arrived they took us to check in at the Diamond area to try and sell us a membership promising $600 in coupons to use at hotel. Beware and avoid it. Its a trap. The shows started until 9pm, which seemed too late for kids/ families.

One of the best resorts I’ve ever been to when it comes to food quality. Great place for couples and families. Ariana made sure that we were having a good time, every resort needs a staff member like her to make visitors feel comfortable and taken care of. Coffee/ice cream shop is 10/10

Mateo at the bar outside of the buffet was an absolute gem! This man knew our drinks and kept them coming. He was informative and helped us plan our visit to isla murjeres. We stayed in diamond cub and our butlers irving, jesus and sarah were very attentive and ensured we had everything we needed. Restaurants were amazing, zen hibachi was a great experience. The buffet also had ample food and Hunter Steak house was fabulous.
