Originally booked a queen, so we were pleasantly surprised to get a King bed. Room was large. Separate door to toilet and to walk in shower with main door to the sink between both. Lobby is meh...small and minimalistic. Overzealous cleaning crew sometimes the threw away things we kept on purpose (packaging for toothpaste that we planned to use for repacking, an almost empty bottle of water, empty cup--that we were using to put over an opened can of seltzer). Also, they didn't replace face towels one day when they took them and sometimes just folded the towel we used and put it back (there was a tiny stain on one of them, so we knew it was the same one). Very clean and updated look. Complimentary bottles of water and coffee in the room. Friendly staff. Generally quiet hotel but noise in the city is noise in the city. We're used to it because we grew up in NYC. I stayed 4 nights with my husband and traveled to Evanston via Metra at OTC everyday and came back late in the evening or at night... Didn't feel unsafe but didn't feel like I could do that walk by myself either as a woman... Just because it was dead after 8pm even just 1 block from the hotel. During the daytime, it's springing with activity in the area and convenient to plenty of tourist things to do. Japanese Souffle pancakes just a couple of blocks away. Yum!
