Sufficient Weekend Accommodations in Vail Village
We arrived a bit earlier than expected, and the hotel was able to accommodate us and allow us to check in during the morning. This was a great start. The room had very comfortable beds, a large TV, and a sliding glass door that opened for fresh air. Of note: Valet parking in a garage below the hotel is $50/night. Stay includes access to the Spa (which is extensive-2 outdoor hot tubs, an indoor hot tub, an indoor cold tub, a dry sauna, a two floor exercise area, a wellness room, a steam room, several showers, and a large locker room). Stay also includes a complimentary breakfast. The breakfast is a few steps above a cheap hotel's "continental breakfast". They had a few options for hot food(eggs, sausage and bacon), yogurt, cereal, coffee, and some fruit. Pretty basic. However, the restaurant offers a great happy hour at night with higher quality food from $7-$9/plate and a great drink selection. The bar has a very nice ambiance and the bartender was friendly and fun. The Men at the front desk were very helpful in suggesting close places to walk to(The Red Lion, etc.). They were also very considerate in letting us know we could store our belongings in the hotel during our ski day (after we checked out),AND ALSO allowing us to use the Spa facilities after we came off of the mountain. The Ladies at the Spa desk just ask you to sign in with your name and complete a liability waiver. Best time to book here is off-peak times when rooms are $200 a night. Not worth much more than that.

Good choice
Comfortable room. Good restaurant and bar in hotel. Can easily walk to towns of Vail and Lionshead. Front desk gave good recommendation for Jeep tour. Not much to do without a car in summer.

Perfect Vail vacation location!
We had an excellent experience at The Vail Mountain Lodge. We stayed in one of the 2 bedroom/2 bathroom condos with our 2 young adult children. It was beautifully furnished and had a well equipped kitchen complete with a Cuisinart coffee maker and a full spice rack. The breakfast buffet was excellent and the staff was particularly helpful to us when we checked in at 10 pm. The spa is a wonderful feature. We loved the location- in the center of Vail Village with the trail just outside our door.
