Hotel Sole Roma, Rome

How disappointing in such a key-location. From the rude reception clerk to the crammed room to NO HOT WATER! The elevator is tiny and constantly out of service. The breakfast is pathetic; packaged croissant snacks and the worst part was that it was included in my hotels.com package and they insisting on charging me when checking out. Worst place ever. Please stay away.

Just home from a 4 day break, on arrival we were given a free room upgrade to their superior room which was very impressive, breakfast was poor however staff couldnt be more helpful and location was excellent all major sites within a few minutes walk.

Stayed 4 nights, enjoyed it very much. Very nice staff, very helpful. Room very clean and generous towels, etc. Small room but authentic old building gave it charm. Read the history on plaque outside! Hand-held shower bit difficult, but functional. Simple but adequate breakfast for euro 5 is a bargain and you can take your tray to the lovely, shaded court yard. WiFi excellent. Location is superb, around corner of Campo de Fiori, yet still quiet in room. Walk to Pantheon, Piazza Navona in 5 minutes, 15 to Vatican and Castel D'Angelo. Buses close by too. Perfect for what I wanted, highly recommend. A little gem with a "real" vibe. Overall, very happy.

The place is outdated and shouldn’t be listed as a 3 star in my opinion. Our first room had mold on the ceiling and we asked to be moved (though they tried to convince us to stay and they could come and spray). Luckily, it was better than the first. The area of town can’t be beat but I expected more for the price and the listing.

A very pleasant stay in a very nice and conveniently located hotel. The staff were always friendly and willing to help with anything. Our room was located on the top floor adjoining a roof terrace. This was very nice in general although a couple of nights some other guests out on the terrace didn't know about or weren't adhering to the 11pm noise curfew! Another downside with this rooftop location perhaps was that one of my room-mates noticed a few ants were occasionally getting into the room. The wi-fi strength was insufficient to be usable on my smartphone but my roommates had no problem with it. In the bathroom the shower was a bit annoying since the heat of the water kept changing every so often. The breakfast was a continental one with including some very tasty bread rolls and the occasional fruit tart to add to the selection. Location was excellent. Great local restaurant opposite the hotel entrance and a busy piazza close by with more restaurants and a buzzing nightlife.
