The heart of NYC.
5-star service, cleanliness, and location! This is THE place to stay for proximity to Times Square and Bryant Park. Very large Junior Suite that was perfect for our family of 4. All of the staff treated us like royalty. We will definitely stay at The Knickerbocker again.

Go for premium or up
The staff was super friendly for the most part and gave us a great welcome. Unfortunately the room that I was given was not a 5 star quality room (even though it was the "deluxe" option and cost me 300$ a night : the carpets seemed old and dirty with several stains, as well as a stained bedspread...And the shower basically flooded the bathroom when you turned it on. The bed was super comfortable though. But when I mentioned the carpets, I was immediately upgraded to a premium quality room, with new carpets. I appreciated the responsiveness of the manager and the new room definitely made our overall experience much better.

The hotel can certainly use some updates. The carpet in the hallway and by the elevators on my floor was quite worn and should be replaced. Staff were very friendly and polite. One of them (can’t recall his name; he is a former marine, I think) went the extra length in assisting us all along. Very impressive. We arrived at the hotel too early and our King bed room was not ready. We were offered a double queen which we took so that we could put away our stuff and go out. There’s a big pillar when entering the room (which they forewarned us). We certainly won’t go for that room again in the future. We were also very impressed by the fresh fruit bowl with a variety of fresh fruit the first evening. We went to Whole Food to get fresh fruit the following two days. Location is great right in Times Square.

Our experience at the knickerbocker was phenomenal!! We were upgraded to a time square view room on arrival and the room was impressive. The size was incredible for its location, enough space for all 4 of us to move around comfortably! But even better then that the rooftop bar has an incredible view. however the staff are really what made our stay exceptional. We arrived just after last call to the roof top bar but were given drinks to take down to our room! ( our travel had gotten so delayed we’d excpeted to be there hours earlier!). But Todd the bartender spent at least 20 minutes if not more taking the time to tell us all the great places to see and explore during our stay!! We tried our hardest to finish his list! This was not something he was required to do but the small gesture really made our stay in New York City unique!!! I don’t think we will ever stay anywhere else again!!!

Family trip to NYC
We were very pleased with our stay in July 2018. They pay a lot of attention to detail. Our airline delayed our luggage and they offered us dental kits. There as also a small issue with the room and they resolved it right away as well as offered us express breakfast vouchers at the coffee shop.

Oasis from the NYC vibe, shame about the food
We had a room with two queen sized beds and a sofa, which was sufficient for a family with two teens. The staff were terrific. The interior needs updating, it’s a bit gloomy in the common areas, but the rooms are a good size, relaxing and quiet, especially if you ask for a higher floor. The bathrooms are lovely, but the showers would benefit from a bigger head. Overall it’s a real oasis from the hustle and bustle of NYC, at the end of the day. The turndown service was great. The roof top bar is terrific, and the 4th floor bar has A good vibe. The 4th floor restaurants were very disappointing though, and the sofa seats are uncomfortable, make sure you get a chair seat. Both breakfast and dinner were mediocre, especially given the cost and chef billing. Dinner was particularly tasteless, arrange to eat out nearby as there are some fantastic places. Tony’s Italian was fantastic, as was Benjamin Prime. The pain quotidien at Bryant Park has fabulous breakfasts and lunches.
