Old concept with new renos
Was a very relaxing stay in a quiet little town. Just a 15 minute drive to Smithers where all the big amenities are but the scenery there was beautiful. Amazing how quiet the room was even being next to the main highway. Was surprised to see it up for sale. Hopefully whoever the new owners will be, will leave it as it is.

Cointé by the River
Clean, well-provided for, comfortable rooms with a simple taste. Nice light in the morning. Only steps to the river and a well-maintained trail. Traffic was drowned out by having music on the television. Mary was accommodating with my arrival time and made the check-out easy and convenient. I would stay here again.

Peaceful, charming and located close by paradise
This boutique (meaning charming if lacking some basics) hotel is a commendable effort to make a heritage store into a special experience. On that account it largely succeeds, but needs some attention to details. It is likely the tag end of the season so staff were not often present. There is a number to call if one needs anything. What we needed, but I didn't discover until to late, (r too early to call) is that there is no reading lamp for the nice armchair. (It' a perfect place to lose yourself in a great book). The only, small side table is wanting glue and a screw. They did though provide us on request an extra straight back chair and allowed me to park my fishing waders in the utility room. Mary deserves huge credit for creating something quite charming and much needed. My tiny disgruntlement aside - 76-year-old grouchiness on full display here -. is that this is a special and worthy little hotel experience. Support it and similar efforts to bring a bit of charm and peaceful quiet to those of us seeking that restorative medicine.

Nice hotel
Flexible staff with good communication :-)
Rooms are nice and in good condition!
Outside of the hotel is being renovated but it did not disturbe us. It will be nice when ready.

Great stay in surprisingly busy Telkwa!
We had a great stay in Telkwa. The inn is shabby on the outside but "shabby chic" on the inside! Check in was informal, but easy. Wonderful updates inside while keeping the "old world charm". Should be noted that we booked a king room but were given a queen.

We loved it! A very nice, quiet little spot, close to the river and a quick hop to shops hiking and more. Amazing value for the price!
