not sure about using Hotels.com in future
when we got to hotel we were told that Hotel.com showed us checking in a day later. Thank goodness I had the print out showing that I had booked that night. They found us a room. The air didn't work, but when we told them about it they immediately got a new unit installed. also they told me that I paid more going through Hotels.com then I would have paid with them. Not happy about that.

this place was located about 5-10 min past Rushmore monument. kinda out of the way from keystone food, but still a great central location for Rushmore, Custer state park, and hill city. we had a hard time finding it because we did not realize it was part of a KOA campground and the name was different. you check in at the lodge which is around the back of campground check in and up the hill. very quiet for a RV and tent area. It was a little chilly when we were there. we were not able to use the pools which I had been looking forward to. grounds looked well kept and maintained. our room was on the main level and had a view of the pool with a balcony. the breakfast was small just cereal, bagels, fruit, and muffins. but fine for us. our fridge did not work and we asked the front desk to fix it and maintenance came with a replacement in about 30 min. the shower head did not work great and dripped. other than that everything seemed ok.

Errors made by staff at time of reservation cost us the room we thought we had reserved, they had the wrong dates...yet we had a confirmation letter/email with the cirrect dates. Free breakfast was pathetic and worse than inner city school government subsidized breakfast. Poor housekeeping overall...found long hairs in the bathroom and dirty grout.. linens were questionable..seemed quite old. No daily refresh of room available...
