Clean and friendly. Reasonably priced breakfast. Facilities were a bit dated but very clean. The yellow bus to the airport makes many stops. Be sure to give yourself at least 40 minutes to get there.

Good for a single night and no more
Having spent 2 weeks in NZ, this was our last stop before heading home and we stayed for 2 nights. Unlike any other place we visited it seemed like the staff working would rather have been anywhere else other than at their job. The exception was the initial front desk receptionist who did our check-in (and check out) and he was very professional. Little things like a per person delivery fee for room service ($5 per person) as well as charging people for the hotel shuttle ($6 pp) were unusual and created a feeling that the hotel was interested in shaking down its guests especially combined with the atmosphere. The included breakfast was also of “meh” quality. To be fair, what they offered wouldn’t be bad by North American standards. The problem? Everywhere else we stayed the food was exceptional making this seem far worse than what it likely really was. When the hotel brags about having an award-winning chef as part of the team I guess my expectations where set a little higher than the reality. If you’re looking for an overnight stay to catch a plane this place is fine but outside of that head downtown.

This hotel is quirky. I liked the theme and the effort to make it a unique experience, and the staff were extremely helpful. However the hotel is advertised as a 4.5 star, and is closer to a 3 star. The room needs serious updates. The lights flickered and the air conditioning did not work. The room also needed a more thorough cleaning as there was a lot of built up grime in various places.

The decor is dark, depressing, and ugly. There was a motion sensing light in our room that would come on and off every minute or so. To stop it I had to cover up the light.

The hotel was clean and funky. Only advice I have is the hotel is spread out over a large area and only one elevator. I would recommend anyone staying there to get a room close to the elevator as I had a long walk to my room.

The staff went above and beyond to help us. The place was very clean and grounds was well tailored. We are happy we choose the Naumi Hotel. We were treated like family. We will recommend this Hotel 👍
