    njoyable stay
Had a good few days, grounds fabulous. 10 min walk downhill to harbour, cab back up hill about £5, so good. Restricted because of covid, but overall very good.

Definitely 3 Star and no more
Whatever they say about location and facilities this is definitely a 3 Star hotel and no more. We had a family room, which was very basic, almost utilitarian with the minimal decor, fittings and accessories. The room had the very basic and plain fittings and furniture (what there was of it), the curtains were thin and dripping down as they had been pulled off the rail, the bathroom wasn't even tiled just a kind of formica everywhere, and the lighting was terrible, one main light and two small reading lights on the headboard which were so dim you couldn't read by them. To be fair we were not there for any of the sports facilities, which are extensive, nor did we eat or drink there. On the plus side the staff were great and very responsive to our criticisms, the rooms were very clean, and the free parking and the fact you could walk into St Ives was invaluable.

    Our Tregenna experience
Loved our stay.. Staff & quality of food was excellent...and the surroundings stunning! Our room was no 93....it was clean & comfortable...however it could do with refurbishment in the future!...cold tap is falling off...sounds trivial but let’s your beautiful hotel down..which is a shame.. On another plus note your e mail communications were excellent & checking in on line good idea.. Thank you you all worked so hard in what is a very difficult time...kind regards xx ( p s ..this was our second visit..last one being 20 yrs ago!..) see you again 😊

    Enjoyable stay!!!
Enjoyable stay!!! Breakfast took a while to be served and we both thought that there was a better way to offer breakfast. We thought at times it took a while to get to the table but we also understand why . Thanks for an enjoyable stay !!

    Hotel amazing, restaurant awful
Hotel & grounds beautiful. Service and facilities brilliant. Breakfast and the Brassiere were a disgrace. £25 for a sirloin steak is a joke, eaten better in a harvester.

    Nice place to stay.
Really nice hotel in good condition. Only things I would point out is the bar closes at 11 and there is a steep hill to get to the hotel if you are walking.

    Poor 2.0
on arrival everything appeared to be fine . Nice building . There was sanitizer and tissues to open the door to the reception. The receptionist was fine and polite. Thats where the good stuff ends. the sanitizer and tissues only appears to be for downstairs as no other entrance had any, also I noticed that the carpet on the stairs had seen better days but was acceptable. When we got to the room the furniture appears to date back to the 70's. when I looked out of the window I had a lovely view of the roof from the building below only to find on my return to find that my booking said I paid for a room with garden views. the light was not fully secured to the ceiling, the shower rail was broken and not secured to the scree also the cold tap was lose. when the wind blew there was a knocking coming from the roof as if a flag pole was not secured properly and the metal pulley was hitting it. When I went to reception to report this the girl just said o.k. I will report this to maintenance. She didn't take my name or room number so I reported it again later. This time he did take my name and number but would insist on saying that there was a problem with the guttering. I only used this hotel as a base to sleep so unable to say about the food. There was no maid service and when we left we had to strip the beds ourselves and put it in a plastic bag. The bed also gave me a bad back which got worse the longer we stayed. The water drained slowly when showering due to hair in the plug.
