    Great base for touring

Lovely base, although not necessarily good for physically impaired due to access. No disabled parking. The beds were not overly comfortable. Restaurant was lovely with plenty of choice. Staff very friendly.

Beautiful Place to Spend a Few Days

We were greeted by the beautiful black lab Kernow, and were shown around by the owner. The place is absolutely stunning, clean, it's in a gorgeous and convenient location. our room was huge, we had fresh water and hot drinks every day, free wifi, TV with great choice and the food in the restaurant was beautiful. Honestly, I have nothing but good things to say about it, the garden plus the hidden druids well was a massive bonus too. We stayed in a big 4* chain hotel on the 4th night of our hols in Cardiff, and it was completely rubbish in comparison.

    Tranquil 3 night stay

Very friendly and immaculate property set in a lovely village location just 15 minutes walk from the main town of St Austell. Very nice evening meals as well as breakfast and is a pet friendly place for those wishing to bring dogs as Mark and Francesca own a lovely, quiet black Labrador named Kernow. Would recommend highly whether coming by car or train.

    Disappointing breakfast effort

Very friendly staff. Bit out of touch starting breakfast at 8.30. I had to leave before breakfast was served. The staff made a great effort to ensure I had breakfast for the following morning. However, on the second morning my bacon and tomato sandwich was essentially a tomato sandwich with a scattering of bacon scraps. Not really acceptable as a breakfast. If it wasn’t for this, everything was 10/10 and suitably comfortable and relaxing.

    Great hotel and location

This striking thing about this hotel is its garden. It is amazing! Lots of lovely decking area and a waterfall and huge pond and lots of lovely plants. Our room was in the newer wing and was plenty big enough with a decent shower room. The room was cleaned and tidied each day but we kept the same bath towels for the duration of our stay ( 5 nights). This might not suit everyone but we were fine with this. If you have dinner in the hotel you will not be disappointed. The meals were fabulous. Considering they were short staffed, the waiting staff did a great job. Breakfasts are good too. The hotel is in a perfect location for visiting places such as the Eden Project and The Lost Gardens of Heligan and well positioned for travel to either coastal ports. Altogether a good find.
