Loved this place. I call it a poor man's Azulik... Jose our host was the best. He took care of all our needs. The yoga SUP paddle boarding in the Cenote was fun and the scuba diving in the Cenote was Epic! Personally I loved the ambiance of this little place and will come back for sure. Just two small suggestions to the staff: 1.) Put an extra blanket in the rooms. on 2 nights I was there it was a bit cold. 2.) Change up the breakfast menu in the morning. The exact same thing everyday was a bit boring to the taste buds. Overall 5 stars, but don't expect the Hilton. If that's what you are looking for, go there. If you want some stillness of the jungle, come here.

From the 1st step to the last - like in a jungle!!! Beautiful wooden decoration everywhere. Room (actually small private cabin) was very clean and comfortable, never saw any insects (was really scared about that, it's tropics..). Thanks!!!

host Jesus is the man!
we stayed in a small cabin for 3 nights with me and my female partner. from the moment we walked in to the moment we left every time we saw the host Jesus he was nothing short of accommodating. be prepared. it is an ecovillage there was water running into out room and dripping from ceiling so be ware. it was still a great time and we had kayaking and paddleboarding in the cenote on the property included with our stay. it was a great time

MangleX was a perfect little hotel for our recent stay in Tulum. All the staff were beyond friendly and helpful and real delight to interact with. This might not be the hotel for those that are wanting the resort style accommodations but if you are looking for the original feeling of Tulum and the nature to surround you, this is the place. There are reports of mosquitos and this is true but you're in a jungle, there are mosquitos everywhere. We were fortunate that the weather wasn't too hot or humid so we didn't need to concern ourselves with the lack of AC. Having a beautiful deck out the back with a cenote is a real treat and we would come home at night and sit out there and watch the stars. The location is a short walk or bike ride to some of the best restaurants and bars in town along with being across the street from some amazing beaches. I cannot praise Jesus and Gilberto enough for their kindness and welcoming nature, two of the best hotel concierges I've ever come across.
