Disappointing stay, weird policies
I was excited to return to Miami and to stay at this hotel which looked nice in photos. It was just as nice in person but the service was beyond disappointing. 1) Inspection policy - For starters, they have a weird policy (that I wasn't aware of before booking) of needing access to your room at least once every 24 hours. So even if you don't need any room service, you are supposed to make an appointment to have someone enter your room at least once a day. I don't get it either. 2) Food delivery - For a five night stay, it was a no brainer I would order food at some point. It seems as a means to discourage ordering out of room service, they refuse to allow the delivery person to bring the food up to your door. I asked if someone at front desk could bring up the deliveries, they said no. Not even for a fee due to food safety issues. Okay understandable. So can someone escort the delivery person up to my room? The answer is still no. No reason was given. For the money you're paying, it should be an expected service. My last stay at the Hotel Victor in Miami Beach, they offered great service and would have someone escort the delivery person to bring you your order. Pro - I requested a fridge and they did grant that so that's probably the one positive thing. Overall not happy with my stay or service. I expected better customer support.
