No room at the inn
We arrived at the hotel after a long bus ride to be told they'd double booked our room and we were out of luck. We were taken to a sister hotel of lesser value & with no view. There, a series of negotiations lasting over an hour took place to convince us to stay. This included a cash rebate of some of our monies on checkout. However, on checkout, no-one knew anything about it. Very disappointed.

Family room
The hotel perfectly suited a one night stay for a family. It seemed a little out of town- on a hill and the festival was on so it was great for that night to be a bit quieter for children. All in all 8-10 mostly due to lack of personality

Disappointing stay
Disappointing stay. Basic things like a guest manual in the room to outline services available and basic info about hotel is not available. There is no restaurant on site and I believe breakfast is served on level one but again no signs or info about times or menue. There is a fridge in the room but empty. No water provided! The lift stops between floors which is strange. Bathroom is big and includes a bath but can not be used as plug is leaking. The shower is in the bath but no screen provided so water is all over the floor. No shampoo or conditioner provided or hair dryer. The bathroom smells as there are no windows, wifi is available but password is only provided on request!! We stayed in Sri Lanka in hotels significant cheaper with much better basic service and guests focus.

We were staying in Kandy as a layover to head north. We felt pressured into using the ‘tours’ provided by the hotel, when we were just looking to get transferred to our next accommodation. We felt misinformed about the public transport by staff at the hotel as they wanted us to use their facilities. Other than this the hotel had a great buffet breakfast!! The bed was comfortable and the room was very clean. The bathroom needed some maintenance, but nothing major.

Like staying in your friends hotel
We felt really well looked after especially after my wife needed to go to a doctor urgently late on our second night - the staff found a lovely doctor, organised a tuk tuk, sent a staff member with us to make sure we got to the doctor ok and the medicine needed. In general, the staff we great, very friendly and helpful. Always asking was everything ok, did we need any help but not pushy. We really liked the breakfasts, which changed a little every day but plenty of fruit and local Sri Lankan food. We organised for the hotel to pick us up from Colombo airport when we arrived. Despite our plane being delayed the driver was waiting for us, and made sure we got some food and water before we departed. Mr Laxman, the hotels resident tour guide, was brilliant. He suggested several things in and around Kandy but we had our own ideas and he was happy to help with whatever we wanted. His English is very good and he knows the entire area very well. He realised we liked to try different food, so would stop randomly and pick up fresh fruit for us as we went around. He organised a wonderful day trip to dambulla and a safari. His team of drivers were very good and happy to stop anywhere along the way. I've grown weary of hotel guides that just push their standard trips on visitors, but Mr Laxman was very helpful in getting our preferences met. He even brought us traditional homemade new year's food on new year's morning when we were leaving.

Hotel was a kilometer away from city center, room was large and comfortable, but a small TV was placed far for viewing. No in house restaurant, food was supplied on request.

Amazing Hotel to stay!
1. This hotel is located in the amazing location of Kandy from where you can have a nice Mountain view. 2. Staff is very polite, down to earth, they welcomed us with fresh fruit juice. 3. Rooms are very clean, spacious, with bathtubs (if you choose to have 1) 4. Hot water, cold water - water supply is continuous. 5. Staff arranges tuk-tuk for you in 10-15 minutes. Just ring them and they will make it at your footstep. 6. Please speak with Zameek (Manager) & Laxman (Tour Manager) of the Hotel. They are awesomessstt people whom you can see in Kandy. 7. Laxman will help you to design your itinerary very well. He will arrange a tuk tuk tour for you guys as well upon request. 8. regular clean ups are performed if you leave the key at the reception. 9. Overall we just loved our experience in this hotel. 10. Beautiful city this is - Kandy that! Please make your stay even more beautiful by living in this Hotel.
