Overnight Stay in Traverse City
Hotel location was great to downtown, so we walked around a lot. We had a room with a Bayview, which was a beautiful view, however, there is a lot of road noise. Also, we did not realize that the hotel did not have self parking or the option to park out on the street, so it was a little bit of a surprise to have to do valet parking. I think they should make that clearer in the listing. Also, I don’t know if all the rooms are like this, but we had a king room with a beautiful shower, but there are no shelves in the shower, or hooks to place any of your things, i.e. the soap, your shampoo, your razor, it’s just a big open shower And the water pressure could be a little better. The bar downstairs looked beautiful. However, we did not order anything from there, so I cannot say how that was. And it faces the bay and has a beautiful view. Other than the couple things I mentioned above, our stay was good and and interaction with hotel staff was pleasant.

Room with a view - and bonus road noise
We paid extra for a bay view room. That was a mistake. The view was nice but there is a busy road right outside the window. The road noise was loud day and night. On the plus side they did have white noise machines to help drown out the noise. The parking is valet only so be prepared to pay extra and wait for your car. The daily happy hour at the bar was good.

Good, clean hotel
We needed a clean, no-frills hotel for our family trip to Traverse City. You can’t beat the location of this hotel—it was conveniently located within walking distance of downtown. I was disappointed by the mandatory valet for on-site parking. I prefer to have easy access to my vehicle, and not to have strangers handling my vehicle. The hotel was nice and clean. We were offered housekeeping, I accepted, and they never came—I would have been upset if we had stayed more than two nights. The location is noisy, with heavy traffic just outside the window at all hours of the day, but the hotel does provide a sound machine, which was a nice feature. I would have liked to see an in-room safe offered, particularly because this is a beach-friendly vacation destination. I ordered breakfast to go from the restaurant downstairs and it was very good and quick. The small amenities area was super overpriced. $5.50 for four ibuprofen pills.
