Jungle Lodge Tikal.
Hotel was clean and staff very friendly. Food at the restaurant was not that good. Would have been nice to see local dishes on the menu. Location was excellent.

Right next to Tikal but poor service
Good location but assigned a room next to the restaurant with no windows so quite noisy. Restaurant staff had attitude with simple requests. Failed to respond to emails inquiry about transport so had to arrange more expensive private transport.

Fine for what it is
Cheapest rooms are extremely basic which is fine, unfortunately it is very hard to get air flowing through the room as there is just 1 small window. This results in extremely hot and humid nights which I couldn't sleep in. The restaurant is actually quite good, the prices aren't crazy considering the location and the food was very tasty (highly recommend the french toast with bananas for breakfast). The shared bathrooms were very nice and modern however people leave the doors open and the lights on which results in an absurd number of bugs. Maybe a sign to keep the door closed would be helpful. At the end of the day, you are here to see Tikal with a convenient location, I wouldn't stay longer than you need (2 nights was plenty).

great jungle hotel
Inconvenience of outside bathroom and toilet...but an amazing place, where 19th archaeologists once stayed. List to the jungle noises, including howler monkeys!

Great hotel, restaurant could improve
The hotel and grounds were lovely. Everything was clean and in very good condition. We found that restaurant really lets the hotel down on the service front. Incorrect meals delivered and cold coffee and side dishes. They also never gave you an actual bill. When we asked about the inflated cost of our meal, they informed us that they added the tip into the total. I don’t mind tipping, but it would have been nice if they made a note of this practice on the menu or if they gave you an actual bill so you could see that the tip had been added.

Tikal accessible luxurious and natural
Beautiful facility surrounded by groomed jungle. Sat on patio watching Spider monkey hanging in palm to snack on it's fruit. Staff nice too.

Conveniently located hostel
Lack of night time electricity is a safety issue as no torches provided. Accomodation overpriced for what you get. Pros-beautiful garden setting and also right at the park entrance

Gorgeous grounds, friendly staff, a few downsides
The grounds of the Jungle Lodge are BEAUTIFUL - tropical birds and monkeys even hung out in the trees in the late afternoon. We stayed in the cheapest lodging, and the mattress was extremely thin and hard - it was more like glamping than a lodge, but we paid very little for the room. The communal bathrooms were beautiful and very clean. The men at the check-in desk were very friendly and allowed us to check in early. We knew that the power would be off several pre-determined hours each day, but unfortunately they turned the power off even outside of these times. It was hard to sleep at night because it was so hot and we couldn't run the fan since the power was off. We did have dinner at the lodge and were pleasantly surprised - the pasta was very good and it wasn't too expensive. It would be great if they had a filtered water fountain - we had no choice but to keep buying bottles of water at the bar because there's no grocery store nearby and we drank the bottles we bought very quickly in the heat.

It was like staying in a jungle fairy tale. We kept referring to it as the Jungle Book. A truly exceptional experience. Highly recommended. Ask for Tony as your Sunrise Tour Guide.
