Beautifully renovated property atop a hill overlooking Lyon. A quiet retreat after exploring the busy old town below and it even has a lovely pool and spa to relax in before dinner. The restaurant sits within a court yard and serves tasty treats and great drinks.

Very Good
The door of each room has its own key so there was no way to have a plastic electronic door key fail. It’s old technology but very welcome. Each room has a significant person of history featured on it. What I found disconcerting is that few women if any where featured. The high ceilings and arched halls gave a great sense of calm to our stay. The grounds are immaculate and the pool a welcome respite. We will be back again.

Very Good
Beautifully renovated building located on an exceptional site at the top of Fourvière. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. On the negative side, there are no in-room coffee machine (you have to pay for it in the morning and you also have to pay for the hotel’s private parking despite the fact that it is nowhere close to downtown. Lastly, the very expensive meal was not very good or interesting and the Maitre d’hôtel was as incompetent as they come.

Beautiful Respite
Loved everything about this place, on the hill overlooking the city! I stayed in a double in July. Concerts every night at the ancient Roman amphitheatre located practically in hotel's back garden, easy access to Old Lyon via charming funicular w/ station right at the foot of Notre Dame. Great friendly and accommodating staff, rooms spacious. Consistent and charming decor throughout . The restaurant was also very good. I didn't use the spa or pool. The only problem was the internet which only really worked well in the common areas of the main floor. The manager acknowledged and apologized for this, explaining it was partly due to the architecture of the place. I was not there on business so I didn't mind so much and tried to be mindful that it once was a monastery and that was a huge part of the appeal of staying there! I would highly recommend this place for a several night's stay in Lyon.

Oasis of Tranquility in an Amazing City
Amazing oasis of tranquility above everything Lyon has to offer! We had a family room - 2br - which was perfect. Proximity to Gallo-Roman museum and the top of the funiculaire were fantastic.

The lobby was amazing. It looks like the inside of a cathedral. I have never seen anything like it. It has been expertly restored!

Great time, good memories
We are on a trip that had to include a stop in Lyon to site see and experience the local fare. This city and hotel did not disappoint. Lyon is a great city to walk and if you get tired, their transit system is fantastic. Definitely take in Les Nuits des Fauviere if you can, it’s a fantastic venue and what a view. The food will not disappoint either. This hotel has a wonderful offering for dinner with an incredible atmosphere. The staff are friendly and they didn’t make fun of my attempts at the French language. Thankfully they spoke English when my French failed me.

Good
Beautiful location, which unfortunately we could not leverage due to current restrictions. For such a location, I would have expected the staff at reception to be able to promote a little historical background. 17€ for parking a bit over the top for a quick one night stay and almost the entire parking free. Would only recommend if you can enjoy the location with breakfast, pool and spa, especially because the rooms do not face to the nice court.
