Pro: Good location, good wifi. They provide a mobile with internet and free long distance.Small apartment, but functional. Con: Terrible bed. You can feel the coils of the mattress poking your back. We complained as soon as we sat on the beds. Asked to be moved, but they had nothing else available. They gave us around 20 towels to put on top of the mattress - which helped.

Could have been better
We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Very convenient. Unfortunately the place needs a good clean up, especially under the beds!!! Not as homely as the japaning at Gion

Enjoyed our stay except that there is no elevator. It's difficult to use the stairs with luggages.

Will definitely stayed here again!
This place is excellent. Would've been perfect if there was an elevator but since the staff was so kind to help me with my luggage (since it was very heavy), I'm satisfied.

Poor 2.0
Horrible and painful stay
By far the most horrible and painful stay ever. I have never written bad reviews about any accommodation found through hotels.com but now I felt I had to as this hotel not only was a complete rip-off but it even posed some health and safety threats which I found unacceptable. First the staircase was very narrow so if you are carrying big suitcases it would be a pain to heave and drag them up the stairs. There was obviously no elevator. The room was extremely narrow and tiny. You could not circulate around and bumped all the time against something. The worst is yet to come: The beds mattresses sagged under your body weight; probably the springs were broken and/or the bed box as well. It was so painful to sleep on these beds that we had extreme pain back the following morning and decided to leave the hotel straight away regardless of their policies. Two of the guests were senior over 65 and for them a true pain to sleep on those beds. What a shame! Our advise is to stay away from that hotel; definitely lower standards compared to other hotels in Kyoto

Fair 4.0
I felt very misled by the photos I saw before arriving at the place. Firstly, the rooms were much smaller than advertised, but the more upsetting part was that the photos showed parts of the hotel that did not even exist. The photos showed a very nice, big lobby that was not even at this property. Additionally, I was told about a free shuttle that was never available and the photos were also entirely different. While the location was good, the beds were extremely uncomfortable and I felt very misled, especially considering the high price point. I was very disappointed by the place.

Good value appartment hotel
This was a small apartment, not just a hotel room. Good to have the kitchen facility, although just basic. Check in not till 4pm, which I thought could be earlier. Also found out that you can leave luggage at their nearby office before and after the stay. No information about this in advance, so spent money on lockers at the station prior to check in time. The self check in worked ok, with an English-speaking assistant available on the phone at the check in terminal. No way of plugging the sink so that it can be filled with hot water to wash dishes. Washing under running water difficult and inefficient.

Total no frills hotel No staff onsite, check in is by telephone and iPad No elevator But its close to the Kyoto Station and convenient to eat and shop

Apt style, great location, but no on site service
Apartment style with separate bedroom kitchenette, laundry and full bathroom all in your pRivage room..perfect if staying for more than two more days. Near a grocery mart, rail station, large shopping malls and restaurants. Here are the downsides- there are no elevators (we were on rhe third flr) and there isn't a live person when checking-in so if you run into any complications (like we did with the entry codes) you will need to call someone. It took us a half hour to get settled; however, once we checked in and got our bags to the room, everything worked out great. One more thing...no tv in the room..it didn't matter to us, but it may for some. I thought it was worth the price we paI'd for our stay.
