Great location, awesome building, and one of the best beds I've ever had while travelling. Slept like a baby.

The good: All staff were friendly and accommodating. Fabulous location with quick access to FQ, Superdome, WW2 museum, streetcars etc. Reasonable price for such a location. Rooftop patio great (although the couches were a bit dilapidated). The not so good: when the hotel kitchen was functioning, our room in the third floor filled with the smell of burning grease - not so nice to wake up to, or when one is getting ready for a fancy dinner out. The shower (concrete with a wooden standing platform above the drain), often filled with water during a shower. When I pulled the platform aside, I found a massive pile of hair - it obviously was not part of the regular cleaning regime. The wooden platform itself was rather disgusting, prompting me to buy flip-flops at CVS before even attempting to use the shower. Overall impression: with a few tweaks and attention to detail, this could be a great boutique hotel.

Quiet, charming, friendly but dirty!
Quiet property away from noisy canal st and French quarter but within walking distance to the action and close to street car lines. Staff were fantastic and they were so helpful. But our room was really dusty...lots of dead insects and dust on most surfaces, including our headboard (with sleeping pillows pushed up against it). I had to dust the areas with towels as it was really gross. The dust and bugs were on our bedding too. The shower curtain doesn't fully close and the style of shower is with wood floor planks making it really difficult to clean. Half way through our stay our sink faucet was leaking. We reported it to staff. It didn't get fixed so when we came home one afternoon, our floor was flooded. We changed rooms to a cleaner room (but still very dusty) with a cute little balcony. The room was same style of open layout (with a separate room for just the toilet). My only complaint is that the AC unit made a loud buzz every minute or 2, making it hard to fall asleep. Beds were very comfortable and air con kept room a good temp. Overall, we were a bit disappointed with our stay, esp for the price we paid. The rooms had character but needed cleaning and lacked enough hooks or furniture to put your belongings on. I don't think I will stay here again.

Intimate, funky vibe hotel, convenient location
We arrived to NOLA very early in the morning after a long redeye flight. The front desk attendant (short hair, batman shirt, beautiful smile wish I could remember her name) she got us checked in early so we could have a quick nap. She was so friendly and accommodating and seemed to really be happy working there. She checked us into room four and we werent that happy because it was on the main floor and didnt have a terrace, she got us into the floor above a much nicer room with no hassle. The hotel is beautiful and very unique, the bar downstairs had great service and food. The rooftop patio was funky with a great drink list. The rooms are tiny but in NOLA you arent spending a lot of time in the room! The shower was great, newly updated. We walked to Bourbon street every day only about a 10 minute walk from the hotel no need to cab. We took the transit bus from the airport which only cost $3 and took an hour but very cool way to see the local people and it drops you off about 4 blocks from Catahoula. We loved our stay here and will surely return someday, some of the best service we have ever received and coolest laid back hotel. Thanks for the great stay over Halloween weekend! (Side note: its off the beaten path so not a lot of street noise at night which was great!) Definitely not recommended for people with kids, more of a fun couples or friends hotel.
