Stayed in family suite which was lovely. Mattress bit to high for top bunk bed so husband swopped with daughter. Other than that great room, great service, would def stay again. Evening food and breakfast was yummy too! 15 min drive to Whitby and also Robins Hood Bay.

Spent a single night at the Arncliffe .the location was very quiet ,the staff where pleasant and friendly, the food was very good , the room i had was small but ok the room looked a bit tied could do with a fresh coat of paint. But after saying that I'd still be happy to stay again . The inn itself is the hub of the local area and was popular with the locals and hikers.on the way out i noticed a nice brick bridge i do wish that i had seen this earlier i would had liked to had took a closer look may be next time.

Staff and food excellent. Condition of room was not so good, and staff appeared to be aware of this. Apparently owner doesn't want to spend money on the rooms which is their choice. I suspect only reason so many ppl stay is the lack of other b&bs

Nice old building with a terrible conversion by poor quality builders. Interior a bit sad. Staff were very nice - good beer and food.

Perfectly fine, though a little overpriced and tired.

Small pub, B&B was far away from Whitby. (I had no idea it was about 8 miles away). I got the wrong impression when I booked. I was very disappointed. I thought that it was in the Town of Whitby, not just the bourough of Whitby. This resulted in expensivetaci fees to get to Whitby. B&B has very small really cramped rooms, shower was falling apart at the base. Rooms wrre dingy.bad value for the price. Staff was friendly ay first, not so much when the found out that our train didn't leave until 2 hrs. After check out time. We waited for 2 hrs. at a chilly wet, outdoor train station. They did bring our bags down for us to the station, but with a reluctant attitude.

The hotel is in a quiet little village about 20 minutes drive from the fishing villlage of Whitby. Bar and food are excellent as are the staff. The locals who frequent the bar are very friendly as are most Yorksh people. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and look forward to staying there again.

Unfortunately not as expected from their website. The bedding and towels had been changed but rooms and ensuites hadn’t been cleaned from one guest to the next for a long while. Everything was dirty and very dusty, cobwebs and spiders - shower, basin, toilet seat, mirror, floor, all surfaces and carpet edges all grimy including the kettle and glasses. Luckily I had some wipes with me to clean it all down and it was only for one night. I should have guessed from the downstairs toilets that it might not be up to good standards. Shame as it’s in a lovely area and on the coast to coast walk and the breakfast was good with clean glasses etc. Would not want to stay again.
