Great value
Excellent facilities, convenient location, friendly and helpful staff

Perfect apartment for tourists
Apart Hotel B was perfectly located to walk to all major city attractions, including funicular and Pablo Neruda's house. Our apartment (34) had a view over trees to Cerro San Cristobal with Statue of Immaculate Conception. It was quiet with double glazing and we slept well with the air conditioning. Microwave, toaster and 2 hotplates were sufficient for our cooking needs. Grocery store across the street provided enough food for our needs. Breakfast of juices, ham and cheese roll or pita, chocolate croissant, milk tea and coffee was brought tour room every evening for the next morning. We added extra tomato/mayonnaise/rocket to the rolls and used them as picnic lunches, as we had bought toast and other items for our breakfast. The young men at reception were most helpful and good to very good English speakers, organising tours and taxis. Wifi was great.

Not the best experience
The staff were very accommodating with early check-in and late check-out and they were very friendly. But, they charged me a fee because I didn't have some piece of paper I was supposed to have gotten when I went through customs. No other hotel asked for it or charged me for not having it during my stay in Chile. The breakfast is terrible! It is a prepackaged processed sandwich, a stale cinnamon roll thing, and instant coffee and creamer that they leave in your room the night before.

Clean, contemporary rooms. Great value for money
I was pleasantly surprised when we arrived at Apart Hotel B. There are a few mixed reviews and I wasn't sure what to expect for the price we paid. There are many "apartment" options available to book, which we'd avoided until now. We stayed in room 11, ground floor. Clean, contemporary rooms, lovely shower/bathroom and sunny courtyard. There is also a 24/7 front desk and they are really helpful and spoke perfect English. We have been travelling for 3 months, staying in £40-£50 places and treating ourselves to some luxury every couple of weeks. This hotel is by far one of the best we've found in terms of value, particularly as Santiago isn't a cheap city (we live in London for comparison). The area of Bellavista is really cool. Bars and restaurants are less than 10 minute stroll away with a really cool vibe, never felt unsafe but like any city, I'm sure there are some bad spots. My only negative would be that the building is old with high ceilings so the acoustics make it quite loud. Never a massive problem but we heard some clattering at 7:30am :) You can hear guests talking in other rooms and moving around- nothing major though. Give it a go!
