I love this hotel, and the restaurant has great food. The waitress was not the most helpful.

Green part of city stay
Bed was low & mattress could have been better. Price of food was high which probably was why the restaurant was quiet! Overall though pleasant & liked the outdoor bar on a warm evening. Also paying for parking is high & in my opinion should be free if your paying over £80 a night! I did enjoy the pretty square & my stay

Nothing less than AMAZING!
e stayed here last Fri (11/05). It was a last minute hotel surprise for my partner's birthday and the hotel went above and beyond to make it special. They upgraded our room free of charge, late check out free of charge, a birthday plate in the room saying happy birthday with cakes - these touches really made the day extra special. The hotel is beautiful with extra touches added everywhere. The evening we went they had a lovely gin cocktail evening with a variety to choose from and very knowledgeable mixologists. The location is amazing only a ten minute walk into the city centre with amazing bars around the hotel (but to be honest the bar in the hotel is great!) The breakfast was amazing so much choice for £12 loved the buffet and choice of cooked breakfasts - its great value for money. I work in the travel and tourism industry and have recommended to my company that we use this hotel in the future for birmingham stays as it really has the WOW factor! Thank you Saint Pauls House - we will definitely stay with you again and recommend to everyone!

Night service pretty shambolic
I checked in around 10pm and then went out again to see friends. Returned around 11.30 to find all doors locked an no one on front desk. Spent about 15 minutes standing in the rain ringing the doorbell and phoning reception (which I could see, unmanned, through the window). Eventually get let back in, go up to my room, and attempt to order room service. 20 minutes ringing from the room phone with no answer, decide to phone the main switchboard from my mobile, which does finally get through. "Do you have gluten-free ciabattas" (they're on the night service menu) "Yes" "Could I have a sandwich" "That'll be 25-30 minutes" "Fine" Half an hour later, a knock on the door. Sandwich arrives - "I'm sorry, we don't have a gluten-free bread, so I've brought it on regular bread. I hope that's okay..." It's obviously not But it's 1am now so I can't be bothered to argue, and I just eat the filling out of the sandwich. Everything else about the hotel is lovely. But they desperately need more night staff, and an after-hours keycard entry on the door. This was utterly shambolic. Real Fawlty Towers stuff.
Hereward, gb1 night trip
