Disappointed.
I had high hopes for this hotel and at first was pleased that the room they gave us was spacious and modern. However, we soon found out that the heat in our room did not work. My parents and I had to endure 2 nights without heat in the middle of winter. But what was truly disappointing was that my father and I were forced to go from room to room in different floors for 2 nights just to find a suitable replacement — however, my Mom who has a bad knee and who was in pain, could no longer move so we had to stay in the room that had no heat. On our third night, the heater was fixed — but the sign to “fix up” the room was suddenly overturned to “do not disturb” so when we got back the room was a mess. At 10pm, someone had to clean our room while we waited standing outside in front of the elevator. The problem with the hotel is all the common areas and hallways are not heated so if you’re not in your room it is freezing just to wait outside.
I am someone who states facts. I never exaggerate so the above was a truthful account of what happened. In that spirit, I want to recognize the hotel manager Claudia. It is a big shame that we were not given a discount for the room, but she worked to at least take care of some of our expenses and paid for our car service to the airport. She is an asset to the hotel, but the hotel has much to improve upon. I showed the hotel to my aunt, the ambassador, but my bad experience have influenced her to no longer recommend it to other diplomats.
