When I got the hotel, they told me that they do not have any reservation for me and they said that they do not have nothing with Expedia, anny bussines. So I shoud took a room for the doble the price and only for one night. It was crazy

This hotel is so run down it should be closed. Looked behind the scenes when leaving and it was literally a pigstall. The staff is very friendly and I feel sorry for them what they have to cope with. The owner should be ashamed of himself to let things go that far and just take the money and I can't believe expedia offers places like that. This is after we had a similar terrible experience the day before in another town. No more expedia for us.

Horrible
One needs to stay in a hotel like this, but as little as possible. This way you can know that when the hotel is not very good, it is never bad as this place. Beds Horrible, Windows didn't close so mosquito, no hot water, you name it, it was all bad. Except the AC Worked: Thank God.

Balcony with an ocean breeze!
The hotel staff was excellent! Very friendly, very polite, saw to all our needs. We were upgraded to a quieter part of the hotel per my request at no extra charge. Breakfast was very good! We really enjoyed staying at Tioga Hotel. We will come back again.

Nice hotel close to the beach
The staff was amazing! Could not feel more welcomed. Booked the hotel last minute and got there at night (yay free parking!) and woke up to being right on the beach with a delicious breakfast. Having a pool in the lobby on the beach is pretty cool.

We didn’t get any instrucción about installations: pool parking breakfast. Ex: you need tickets to go to breakfast , we produce them after because nobody tells us . Parking : after 630 pm you must park one block from the hotel in a secured lot , the guy on the street told us ... They were no welcoming and the room is nothing like a picture they have in the website .It was one guy that was helpful and the ladies at breakfast .

unfortunately a very bad experience
The hotel Tioga appeared to be an icon of Puntarenas but unfortunately has become a victim of a poor administration. I am not picky with hotels and even more when I get a low price for them, however this hotel even with a very low price is very poor. The bathroom is deplorable, old, dirty, its stained glass windows are falling down. Throughout the hotel are missing lattices and absolutely everything is rusted with metal. Breakfast is the worst I have ever been served in my life, the second day we had to go to breakfast at another restaurant. The only half redeemable was the pool (which has holes in the floor) and the attention of the staff was generally ok. I paid about $ 50 per night on promotion on expedia for the same, but others who got there paid about $ 90 a night for maybe the worst hotel experience I've ever had.
