Golden week Mt. Haguro
I liked this hotel so much that I called to switch my crummy hotel in my next stopover town for an APA. I even came back and stayed here again on my return journey 3 days later! From the minute I walked in I was stunned by the elegance for such a 'cheap' hotel. I loved the chandelier, elaborate furniture, and hallway color scheme. It had the most comfortable bed out of any hotel and I really liked the light dimmers. The breakfast filled me up until 2pm! Location is the best - right across from the train station. The windows can crack open (great for Covid times). APA Hotel is my new standard!

Nice place
Room was a little small because we had 2 big bags for our travel. But hotel is close to the station and there are many places to eat around the place. Service was very good. Supermarket and convenient store are also walking distance. Happy to stay there.

Tsuruoka interlude, or a stop on the way
I stopped at Tsuruoka during an extended tour of Japan, it was snowing heavily during my stay which limited my views of the city. The hotel was in good condition and comfortable The best coffee shop in town is five minutes walk and worth it to meet the somewhat eccentric owner, the coffee however exceptional.

Great location close to the JR station
Good place to stay if you're going to Dewa Sanzan. Right across from the JR Tsuruoka station and the bus stop to Dewa. Staff were extremely helpful although English was a bit difficult. Room was typical for Japan, small by American standards but neat and with all the basic amenities. Would definitely stay here again.

Clean, practical and well-located
Right next to train station, where you can also get the Airport Limousine bus to Shonai, and the bus to Kamo Aquarium. Room compact but very clean and well-equipped. Good shower, and free, reliable wifi. No bar/restaurant on site for evening dining, but they do serve breakfast
