Good option but pricey
There was an event Wednesday night and the music was incredibly loud. We had a tour booked the next morning at 5 AM. When I called the front desk they were very short and said the music would end at 11 PM but they would go ask them to turn it down. The music volume did not go down and when I called back, they ignored my call twice. While I understand that they cannot stop events, I would have preferred to know ahead of time so we did not book that tour on Thursday or so we could have been asked to switch rooms. The hotel was quite expensive, in our opinion. While it was beautiful, breakfast was fine, service was good, and it had a good location, there were small things that made me really question the price- the safe was broken, the gym and pool were small and the AC in the gym did not work, and room was small and it always smelled musty, especially after turning on the AC.

Don't stay in room 4022!
Beautiful quaint hotel in the Colonial District. The problem was that our room started leaking rain from the ceiling in the middle of the night onto the bed we were sleeping in. We were totally exhausted from our long trip and had unpacked and in our night clothes so didn't have the energy to get up, pack everything and move to another room. So the hotel wouldn't accommodate our discomfort in anyway other than giving us a 20% refund! Fir a leaky ceiling we should have not had to pay anything and they should have shown much more concern for our discomfort! It was "oh so sorry why didn't you change rooms?" They couldn't understand how exhausted we were and asleep unable to get up and pack up everything. Don't stay in room 4022 if it is raining you will get wet!
