6/10 Good

For a golf course, this place is in serious need of an upgrade. The room is very run down. It’s no better than a Motel 6. The bed is rock hard and the linen is so starchy that it could cut you. They leave the lights on in front of the rooms and the mini blinds do not properly fit the window so it was like a spotlight shining inside the room. They say check in is between 4pm-11pm but I received numerous back to back phone calls demanding I supply a time I would be arriving for check in. I reminded them about their check in time policy and that I would be there before 11pm. Unfortunately that answer was not good enough as I received an email and another message about what time I would be there. I advised them between 5pm-8pm. I get there at 6:30pm and there is a sign on the counter saying “sorry we missed you”!!!! I had to walk around the area to find someone to check me in! It was for one night, actually a few hours because we checked out before the sun came up the next day. Live and learn!

4/10 Fair

My daughter and I called this the ghost town motel. It's on golf course property adjacent to the golf clubhouse and in the middle of nowhere. At night after they close the lobby, supposedly at 11, there is absolutely no one on site except guests so don't expect any service. They are allegedly open from 9 am to 11 pm but my daughter checked in at 8:45 pm and the doors were locked. She had to bang on the door to get attention from a guy sitting at the counter. He let her in but was not friendly. When we checked out at 10 am the door was locked and the guy at the counter didn't even acknowledge me when I jiggled the door. I walked back to the room and left the keys on the nightstand. Also, I have never seen an industrial toilet in a motel room. I felt like I was at the airport. There was no comforter on the bed. Instead just a thinly quilted bed spread. This place is not convenient unless you're there to play golf. It is a 15 minute drive or more to get to anything. Expect to use your phone navigation and go for a drive to find gas and food. I am not a motel snob and still prefer the older single story motels where you can park in front of your room. The parking lot here was about 75 yards from our room and during the day the lot fills up with golfers' cars. This '"lodge" was a loser for me and only marginally better than sleeping in my car. I don't think the owners/employees give a damn about this place.
