It was very clean, friendly staff at work. The heating needs to be somewhat fixed but other than that. It's great to stay at in NC Madison/Mayodan

A nice, quiet place with good service.

Stayed here for a night on business. Overall a quiet place with a homely vibe. B&B hosts were friendly.

The room was lovely, although several insects sought refuge from the cold in the first real cold snap. I think it was just a change of season event, and it shouldn't bother anyone else. The place was clean and it is a nice place to stay.

A quiet stay in a beautiful home!

Our stay at the Hunter House was certainly pleasant. Sally and Dan were very nice and, most helpful with what ever we needed to know. Our overnight stay was good although I would suggest separating the door key from the lock from the outside of the door. There was a musty odor in the room. The bathroom sink was not cleaned as well as it could have been. The shower head is old and needs replacing. In the morning, the coffee was hot, the breakfast tasty, the other guests were also delightful. Thanks you Sally and Dan!

  • 2.0.Poor

Poor service. Not worth the money.

When I checked in there was no manager or owner available. A caretaker who had been into the wine attempted to help us. My reservation was for two beds but they claimed that the reservation was lost even though when I went to check out they were able to pull my name and details up on the computer. I ended up staying in the owner‘s suite which only had one bed which required me to sleep with my 13 year old son and not get much sleep. The room was over 80° and the windows are painted shut so you cannot open them. Also the plugs are not the three prong type and the power strip did not work. This required me to charge my phone in the bathroom on the sink. Breakfast was good. Upon check out the manager attempted to bend the chip in my credit card and accidentally cracked the card in half because she was having problem with the chip. Upon check out they took only $15 off the bill and I paid $140. It also appears that they leave the entry/exit doors unlocked all night long so I did not feel secure. I will not go back and I would not recommend this location to a friend. I had a very poor experience.
