Fantastic location for the Anglia Ruskin uni & a lovely clean , comfortable bed. The communal kitchen is excellent & I was glad of this as the kettle wasnt working in my room. Unfortunately no shower head , ill fitting curtains and no wifi to use my computer in my room .

Didn't even check in
You need to pay 100£ deposit to stay here which is completely absurd. It was well hidden in the hotel description and my confirmation email so I didn't know. Since I don't have 100£ in my account I wasn't allowed to check in despite having prepaid my room. With no money and nowhere to go I had to beg the bus driver to let me go back a day early. Absolutely disgusting experience. No one wants to refund me anything so I lost a full day and what is a lot of money to me. Incredibly dissatisfied and disappointed in hotels that they don't make weird hotel practices like that extremely clear before you book.

Enjoyable stay
The room was in an excellent location, a few minutes walk to Cambridge central. It is also close to other facilities and amenities ( gym, parking, swimming pool) and in the evenings I enjoyed walking to some very enjoyable restaurants in the road for dinner. The room was adequate for my purposes, with a hot shower, working space and a shared, fully equipped kitchen. Internet access is essential for my work, and this was fast and efficient. This room was good value for money.

Decent value, but not an hotel
This isn't an hotel - it's a set of ensuite bedrooms in a converted house. I was in the attic and it was quiet but the lack of curtains (venetian blinds) meant that it let a lot of light from a security light in. Cambs is expensive, but this was a clean and good value stay.

Good value but you need to understand "the rules"!
OK so there are a few things that you need to know and are NOT clear from the Hotel description. Firstly it in not a Hotel but rather a nice house that is mainly occupied long term by students. A few rooms are free and these are what you can book. As a result they are not really set up to work like a normal hotel. For example you need to tell the hotel when you will arrive, there is strictly no "check-in" before 3 PM and if you want to "check-in" after 20:00 then they will charge you an extra £30 to meet you. I just avoided that charge but I think that getting there after 9PM would be a real problem. NOTE this is not what it says in the listing! Make sure they have your mobile number as they will likely text you on the day to remind you to confirm arrival time. The room was very clean and comfortable and the house is very well located for access to central Cambridge with lot's of shops and restaurants nearby. There is a communal kitchen where you could cook your own stuff, very much in the Student accommodation model. The house is on a main road and there is quite a lot of noise from that and the coming and going of other tenants but overall it was OK for me. There is no parking nearby except at very expensive meters so I would not suggest that you bring a car. I would recommend this place providing you have close control of your travel details and are prepared to do some of the work, like contacting them to confirm the time. Good value for the price!
