Don’t recommend
Heard a lot of good things about the 21c brand so I decided to try them in KC when I came to town for the Lions vs Chiefs game. Mind you they were at one point charging almost $600 for a standard room pre fees and tax for this night. The check in experience was poor. There were a few parties who wanted an early check in, us being one of them, but they told us no availability and to call back in an hour, which is totally okay. We called back and they said they had a few rooms and it was first come first serve, but then a second person picked up the phone and told us there was nothing. My dad came who also had a room and he got early check in no problem even though he booked the same room as me. I have no idea why they have me the run around, maybe because I’m young. Well, it only got worse from there. Room itself was fine but very standard. Bathroom was really bad. Prominent smell of sewage to the point where me and my girlfriend had to plug our noses going into it. We think it’s because they have a grate in the sinks that goes down to somewhere. The grate in our room had scum and mold and looked really gross and it smelled like the stench was coming from there. Lots of chips in the sink itself, it looked bad. Shower floor was covered in soap scum and grime. The museum aspect is unique and cool and counts for something, but it’s hard to enjoy your stay when thats the bathroom they find acceptable. Overall, Ive had countless better experiences at hotels charging half the price.
