Convenient and new hotel
Great place to stay close to plaza de Armas. Comfortable beds, nice bathroom. WiFi was kind of slow but it’s comparable to most hotels in Peru. Breakfast was good. Staff was helpful, but it helped that we spoke Spanish.

I'd recommend Tierra Sur Colonial in a heartbeat.
This hotel is filled with character; the good kind. Original "silla" building is gorgeous, with boveda ceilings and chandeliers, a lovely dining room and a library of Music, which you can listen to. The courtyard leads to the newer building with the rooms, which are gracious and comfy. Only thing, it seems no hotel provides hot water in the sinks, only for bathing. It's sited just a few blocks away from the action..... which is perfect. And, the concierge service could not be more helpful, they really help you...to make sure that your stay in Arequipa and all the fantastic areas to visit nearby are memorable.

The hotel is an easy walk from the main square and the rooms are set back from the road so are quiet. The hotel is in an old building made of the local white stone around a courtyard. There is a roof terrace with rattan furniture. The beds are comfortable and the linens cotton. The shower was powerful and the bathroom nicely furnished. The staff we met were all helpful. An excellent hotel for a few days in Arequipa.
