  • 8.0.Very Good

Property was beautiful and modern but did not provide clear communication on how to close the door and slow response time to questions or concerns via phone as there was no receptionist at the hotel all weekend. 2 towels for a couple and no robes, slippers or change of sheets all weekend. Area was great and the place itself was huge and beautiful.

Very close to the Congress de Palais.

We enjoyed our stay at Boutique Hotel St Francois Xavier. When we arrived the living room was very cool. It took about 24 hours to be at a warmer more comfortable temperature. Really the only reason I would not give this hotel a 5/5 is the noise. The windows are older and the noise from the restaurant/pub downstairs(we were on the third floor on the street side) and the street noise was quite loud and disturbing for sleep. The apartment was clean however I did have to look for towels for each of us which I found a full load of towels and sheets in the dryer.

    Great Stay In The Port

Great location, pictures are exactly how it looks. The only issue was the noise. The walls were paper thin and you could hear everything happening within the building and outside. Otherwise it was fantastic.

    Night in the city

Great location in Old Montreal! Although it was not the room in the photo, and no robes were supplied, still very comfortable

The only good things about this property are the size and the location. The rest is awful. For once, it's dirty. There were dirty sheets in the laundry room, the floor was covered in dirt and hair. Our window was looking out the fire escape with piles of garbage on it. Secondly, there is no elevator. You need to walk up a steep old staircase to enter the property and one of the steps was broken. I nearly sprained my foot. Thirdly, there is no one ever at the reception to help you. My mother and I stayed there for three nights in a row and did not see a soul at that reception desk. Fourthly, there is no way to lock the door of your room from the inside. It seemed very odd to me from the beginning and I was worried somebody would walk into our room in the middle of the night. Surely enough, that's exactly what happened! Turned out, the hotel accidentally provided our room number and the key code to a complete stranger! My mother and I weren't able to sleep after that. Literally anyone could've walked into our room at any point of day or night, take our possessions or worse. This hotel is not a safe option for women or anyone with expensive possessions. And finally, it is a TWO-STAR hotel, not a four-star like it says in the listing. I am not sure how Expedia calculates the star rating but a two-star hotel and a four-star hotel are two very different things! And there is a hidden "property fee" which brings it to the pricepoint of a decent three-star hotel.

No one at reception when we arrived at 4:30pm. Had trouble with the local offsite outdoor parking. There was still laundry going in the dryer when we checked in... found our bath towels in there, no hand towels. It's a nice apartment in a nice location, but it could use better sound proofing. We barely slept. We could hear everyone and everything happening on the street like they were in our room. Our daughter who was in another room was kept up by guests partying in another apartment... which according to the building rules; no partying. Oh well. Could have been great, but we left exhausted.

Absolutely amazing property in the heart of Old Montreal! The apartment that I had was spacious equipped with all the appliances I would expect, such as stove, washer, dryer and even had two bathrooms. I really loved the ease of the check in process and even the communication from the staff. I would definitely stay here again. Please keep in mind if you have a car it may be difficult to find parking spots and it ranges around $22-$30 a day.
