Profile: Rome Termini Station

Fronted by a great glass hall and topped by a cantilevered canopy, Rome Termini Station’s modernist vibe blends seamlessly with its classical leanings, and newly arrived visitors will be delighted to discover that they can grab an authentic Italian gelato, espresso, or slice of pizza in the Forum Termini before even leaving the station.

Just across the street from the station and next to the Baths of Diocletian is the National Roman Museum, housed in a 19th-century Neo-Renaissance palace. The museum showcases Roman and Greek artifacts that date back to the 2nd century BC, including statuary, paintings, and the Grottarossa Mummy.

Property was beautiful. Breakfast was advertised online on hotel website, as well as in room for all guests as included. If you book with Expedia, however, you need to select the breakfast option or this is not included (we found out the hard way). Every single day we had a housekeeping issue ranging from the housekeeper walking in without knocking all the way to them cleaning the room and leaving the washroom untouched with all dirty linen still on the floor. While this was rectified when they sent someone up to clean, it should not have had to happen every day. No compensation was offered, nor was any service offered by the hotel as an apology for the horrendous housekeeping experiences. I would not return or recommend for anyone looking for a hotel offering services comparable to those found in North America.

A well maintained and updated hotel. Traditional smaller sized European rooms. Very comfortable adjustable beds. Exceptional Happy Hour from 5 - 11 each day. 10 euro per person for appetizers and drinks. Wonderful array of foods in the breakfast room provided daily. Hotel is very close to Termini Centrale Rail Station. Easy to get to all major historical sites from this hotel. Large variety of restaurants within easy walking distance.

I like this property because of its convenient location. We came to Rome with a group of 10. The other 4 couples stayed the Best Western Plus less than a minute walk from Augusta Lucilla Palace. We compared facilities, pricing, food and general appearance with both hotels and we are very disappointed. We paid about 10-20 Euro more each night than our friends, they have larger brighter rooms, whereas our room appeared old and not colourful, balcony is tiny, while the mattress was comfy enough, the room appearance as a whole is boring, the toilet seat moved so otherwise there should be renovation but the room rate cost more than the Best Western who is more modern and presentable. Last but not least, the breakfast cost 10 euro or so whereas Best Western was 7 euro. We joined our friends for breakfast the next day and were surprised and satisfied of quantity and quality of other hotel which had every general American breakfast and cheaper, they even had pancake. Next year we are coming to a cruise sailing out of Rome and for sure we will go for a different hotel.

A 5 min walk from train station, shops and restaurants next door and close to a bunch of major sites. Check in was a bit slow but check out was super fast which we appreciated so we could catch our train. A man jumped onto the counter when he saw us waiting and was incredibly efficient and nice. I would definitely stay at this location again, they have a cell phone that you can borrow for the gps so I didn't have to buy a sim card while I was there. This was the most amazing feature which I've never gotten before, it saved me money and was super useful when walking around in the city. The 10€ breakfast was also worth it. Only suggestion is that they tell you how much the city tax will be at check in, we found a sign in the closet and it said €50 per night but it was only 6 which would have saved us alot of upset emotions.
