Be ware of extreme traffic noice!
Clean and nice staff, this could have a great stay as location is very walkable but the lack of window insulation mede it terrible. Arriving to my room (3rd floor) I first thought a window must be open as traffic noice was extremely loud. Turned out windows where closed and despite the ear plugs provided it was very difficult to sleep (and I am not a light sleeper at all). I even had two different people comment on it in phone call as they thought I was standing in the street and politely asked if I had chance to move indoors. Also restaurant was closed for remodel, this was not advertised on their site, and seem to be a project that will go on for several weeks.

Hip little hotel in DTLA
An inn-sized hotel in DTLA, as quiet as can be for that area. Staff is very friendly and concerned with all aspects of making it a pleasant stay.

The inside of the hotel was nice but it was difficult to park, and we could only pay for 12 hours at a time.

Very strange and loud place
Room was clean and nice. However, it was extremely loud to sleep in. Cars racing by with no sound damper on the rooms. This is clearly known by the hotel because they fold ear plugs into the bedspread. Also there are several bright lights in the room that keep you awake (air conditioner unit and cigar humidifier). BTW there is a sign on the cigar humidifier that says "you will be fined $250 if you smoke in the room". I'm really confused why this humidifier is included in a non-smoking room. Overall the decor is a bit creepy, there is a mural on the front entrance that looks like a ghost that was shot in the head and the painting in my room was a black and white photo of a woman with her eyes blotched out. on top of all of this the room cleaners burst into my room at 2am while I was sleeping and scared the shit out of me. They quickly apologized and said "we are sorry we did not know you were in this room", but my questions are 1) why are you cleaning rooms at 2am and 2) how do you lose track of which rooms are occupied when you only have 14 rooms in the whole hotel?

Simple and contemporary hotel option
Overall, our stay was good. It was a simple and contemporary hotel option for us, and comparatively less expensive than other options in the area. The bed needs improvement! I'm not sure why there are only 3 pillows (for 2 people) and we weren't able to get any additional pillows. Also, the platform bed is oddly a bit away from the wall, meaning you can't lean back in bed (only lay down or sit up). This made relaxing in the room not as relaxing. On the plus side, we liked the small size, the cold bottles of water, windows that opened for fresh air, wifi, and the size of the room. It is on a busy, urban street. We were prepared for some street noise.
