A night at the House of TOby
We chose this hotel because it was only a 2 block walk from the Eurostar train station from which the Chunnel train departs. It is not fancy and the rooms are small, but bathroom was very clean and front desk people were friendly and helpful . Not at all glamorous, but sufficient.

House of Toby.
The hotel was conveniently located to King's Cross St Pancras under ground station and Platform 9 3/4 for Harry Potter fans. We had a family room for 4 and though the beds, one double and 2 twins were comfortable the room and bathroom were lacking in hooks to hang towels or shelves to place small items or surfaces to put suitcases. The breakfast was adequate and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Good 6.0
This place is well designed for generating the maximum revenue from a small footprint, and the quality of the furnishings and fixtures are new and of good quality. The room is clean without smelling of cleaning products, and the air conditioning works. On that basis it lives up to its three-star designation – unlike many places in London. While not the smallest room we have ever rented in London, it is quite small, requiring a bit of a shuffle to get around the far side of the bed. This was exacerbated by the fact that we were in a basement room, with a window that looked out into a tiny light well; there was no danger of direct sunlight, let alone a view. For the price we paid, I did not expect to be in a basement. The staff is helpful, apart from the fellow with two bags of laundry who barged past me while I was trying to get up the narrow stairs. Do be aware that there is no lift, if that is a concern for you. There is a decent coffee and tea maker with supplies in the room, but the “included breakfast” does not bear comparison with the usual hotel breakfast selection. It is a bag with a couple of pieces of fruit, a drink pack of juice, and some sugary packaged products (the muffin had maraschino cherries!). When comparison shopping for hotels, one decides whether or not to pay for a separate breakfast. While management states that this breakfast is “complimentary”, one pays for what is advertised. Fortunately, there are options for breakfast in the neighbourhood

Decent place near King’s Cross.
It’s within walking distance of King’s Cross and it doesn’t cost you a mortgage payment, so you get about what you’re expecting. The rooms are small but clean. They put us in the basement which I was a little unimpressed with as it’s damp down there. Plus there’s no elevator. But the staff were kind and helpful. It’s a perfectly satisfactory place for a couple of days in London.

Exceptional 10.0
Small room but clean and tidy. Close to King's Cross and St. Pancras stations, great if taking Eurostar. The front desk is very accommodating and help. If you need to leave it will cost you. Breakfast fine to get your day started many restaurants and cafes near buy. Will be staying here for my next visit to London.
