Great little spot
This place was like living in the jungle! We were greeted by monkeys and macaws as we checked in. The steps down to our place (5) was like walking deeper into the garden of Eden. We were welcomed by a huge sloth outside our balcony that we watched for most of the afternoon while we unpacked. Location is great, walking distance to everything. Dennis is a great host. Pool is beautiful, and breakfast was nice.

The property is great in terms of location. Places to eat and the park as well as beach are within a short driving distance or even walkable. The pool is great and deep. The view from the room is amazing with part ocean and rainforest. Monkeys, macaw can be seen from villa. Wi-Fi is often spotty but overall good. The stay came with a traditional CR breakfast which is appreciated. The villa itself is big and has everything you need. We didn’t cook or use the kitchen but it’s available. The patio was nice for decompressing tours. They came and cleaned our room after the 2nd day which is a surprise as we didn’t think it’s included. The parking is just outside and does not seem safe to leave your belongings but they have an overnight security. We left shoes and hats etc inside the car and we’re fine. For the most part, our stay was great until a group checked in and was extremely loud until 2am. The group has no sense of their impact to sleeping guests. No one can implement and ask this group to be quiet and respectful of the time and it was awful particularly when you have an early start the next day. We are glad to leave after a night with this group.

Amazing stay at Villas Nicolas. Loved everything about this place- the pool, the views, the room, just everything! So much so that we cancelled the third leg of our trip in Costa Rica and just stayed here for the rest of the week! The best part of Villas Nicolas though was definitely Dennis. He is the most helpful, welcoming, and kind person, and the definitely the highlight of the trip. If this review didn’t shed enough light on how wonderful this place is, then know that if we’re ever in the area again, staying here would be a no-brainer!

Amazing way to experience Costa Rica. Several near by dining options to chose from. The staff could not be friendlier and more attentive. Our room had a great ocean view and monkeys came to our balcony. We could hear the waves roaring at night.. peaceful. I suffered a nasty fall in Costa Rica, and our room happen to have plastic ice bricks i used on my bruises, serendipitous. I highly recommend this villa.
