Lovely castle stay with great staff
We really enjoyed our stay in the carriage room for our wedding anniversary. The room was spacious and very comfortable. We enjoyed a walk around the grounds and explored the castle. Food was very tasty and we have to mention John in Hermiones Restaurant who went above and beyond his role. Super friendly, very informative and even helped us pick the best table in the restaurant. We also used the thermal suite which was nice. The only downside was that you paid an extra €30pp to use it. I personally think if you are staying in a hotel that you should get access to all their facilities included in your stay. Maybe that's just me though. Would definitely recommend the hotel to friends.

Amazing old irish castle and hotel 5 star !!
It was amazing!!!!! The building/castle, the rooms were modern, cosy and clean (superior carriage room). Only 2 mins walk to main castle for bar and breakfast. Amazing golf club we decided not to eat in 1180 in the castle it was a very specific reduced fancy menu so opted for hermiones in the golf club. Wow we chose good!!! Ambience chilled, beautiful huge modern double conservatory and the food was a VERY high standard we did 3 courses including steaks. The staff at hermiones were so lovely. Its a top restaurant not just a gold club house and again 2 mins walk. We then had breakfast in the 1180 in the castle and it was also brilliant. Reception staff were so lovely too! 5 star Kilkea from start to finish (and we are fussy!)
