Two-night stay
Very plain, simple rooms. No microwave in room but a communal one in the hall which isn’t noted in the amenities. Two-story without elevator. 3 independent buildings with secure entry using room key. Very helpful at check in, breakfast and check-out.

slipping
Always liked staying here, but it's losing a step. Latest trip had me in a smelly room that wasn't as clean as it should be (hair in tub, dirty floor, really awful odor). May choose another go-to place after this. Hopefully they can do better.

Older hotel Nice staff NOT ADA for wheelchairs
Decent hotel, but definitely older. Polite staff. Clean room. The beds were decent. There are stairs everywhere, including going into the lobby for check-in & most buildings That is where the problem is- I am in a wheelchair. I made arrangements for a wheelchair room. I confirmed it. They confirmed it again. Much of my surprise when I went to check, I could not because there are stairs leading into the lobby and those same stairs lead into the Continental breakfast. They have one ADA parking spot, but no grid on either side so I had to park in a different spot and we made arrangements to leave a cone for when I returned in the evening. In order to get into the building that did not have stairs, I had to go over a large threshold that just about, bounced me out of the chair. The doorways are pretty narrow & very heavy. The hotel room itself had narrow doorways. The room had two full beds and a little bit of room for the wheelchair, but not much. You can not get your wheelchair into the bathroom. Not even close. The bathroom did have a slightly lower counter And one small grab bar by the toilet. It had a tub that I could not get in. Fortunately, I was able to use the wall and counter to pull myself into the bathroom, but that was not an ADA but hotel room. As mentioned above, continental breakfast was not an option for me. They did say they were deliver a tray, but who knows what was available? Nice people-Not ADA hotel.
1 1/2 to 2 inch bump up the threshold with a very heavy door that doesn’t like to stay propped open. Almost bounced me out of my wheelchair.
Impossible to get my wheelchair through the door to the “ADA bathroom“ estimated with 28 inches not counting another 2 inches off for the door So 26 inches
Heavy hotel room door just barely wide enough for my wheelchair. Thick carpeting makes for a tough drive.
Here’s where you go to check in and get your breakfast. Not possible in a wheelchair. The owner said he’s planning on building a ramp.

Great stay
I booked this hotel based on reviews and location. We needed easy to find, comfortable, clean, and hopefully working items in the room. It was only for one night to finish our trek home to Salem from Anchorage Alaska. We had good places and not so good places. What a great find the Coachman was. The reception area was clean and bright. We were greeted and quickly registered for our room. The room was clean, roomy enough, and everything worked. We had asked about dining, and I wanted tacos, so we were directed to the restaurant across the street. Walking is a relief after 5 long travel days. The food was good, and we slept well that night. What a treat to find an older era hotel kept up so nicely these days. It's really well cared for. We would definitely stay again.

For what you pay this place is perfect! The guy at the front desk (I assume the manager) was so kind and we enjoyed the pool and the free breakfast. We have another trip coming up for a wedding that we originally booked at the neighboring hotel but we decided to switch to Coachman Inn because we knew we would enjoy our stay!
