Always a lovely place to stay. We stay here last year and enjoy the hospitality that we had to come back. Always clean and friendly staff. Close to anything you need.

    Not Worth the Price

Our stay was mediocre. The “jetted tub” they advertise is literally just that. It’s a regular sized bathtub that did not fit my husband’s height. The bed was dusty and tub was dirty. The environment inside looked chipped and old. For the price, this stay was not worth it. There was no complimentary breakfast like advertised either. Overall we weren’t satisfied.

How is this a 4* Hotel?

My husband and I were so disappointed by our stay at the Kentucky Grand Hotel. We quickly realized around 7pm on the day of our stay that nobody would be at the hotel when we arrived. The front desk clerk left instructions for checking in. There was not a staff member for the entire night which would be okay if there weren't any problems but there were. First of all, said there would be free breakfast and wifi. Neither of these things were provided by the hotel. The hotel had a note in our room saying the lack of breakfast was from COVID. I get it but they should have let know that information. The wifi login was not listed anywhere and the TVs weren't working and said they were not hooked up to the provider. We tried contacted the person who virtually checked us in but he never responded to our concerns. The rooms are beautiful but the service is seriously lacking here. Also, the walls are paper thin. We were able to hear our suitemates who were upset about the fact that their room was 90+ degrees upon arrival. So many issues; at least the bed was comfortable and the scenery was gorgeous.

There was NOTHING that I did NOT like about this precious boutique hotel. The food in the Blue Grass Restaurant was fantastic!! I had the fried chicken and my friend had the pork chop. I'm still dreaming about that fried chicken. The piano player was great and gave the Derby a southern bluesy vibe. We didn't want it to end. Last but not least our room was a SUITE that made us feel like we were in an apartment with a delicious view of the park. I give this hotel 10 stars. The staff was efficient, detailed oriented and always catered to whatever we asked. Cant say enough about this very unique and classy hotel!! Also, we loved the covered parking garage across the side street. We felt super safe walking all around the neighborhood. Can't wait to return!!

On our first morning there I found that we had no coffee cups in our room that would fit and activate the coffee maker. I was up at 5:00 am we searched the hotel with no staff for cups at 6:30 with no luck. Ran into the gentleman with our breakfast while finally leaving for coffee and breakfast at 8:00. The next two days we never received our breakfast. As an early riser and coffee lover the cup problem did tick me off a bit and as a diabetic the breakfast was needed but I can't complain about anything else other than those two very annoying mess up's we enjoyed our stay.

This was one of the coolest boutique hotels I have ever stayed at. Great people, great location. The suites are huge with great views overlooking the city park.

    Nothing what I expected

It was in a spot where there was no real parking space and it was not a Grand hotel, more like someone thought of bait & switch trick. Not my cup of tea.

    Could Be A Great Place

The Hotel has the potential to be an amazing Hotel. It lacks the service of a boutique hotel which is what it is striving to become. The rooms are amazing. The bathroom is huge. Could use a few hooks in this large bathroom area to hang a robe or towels. There should be someone to help with luggage if needed, should not have to request a room to be cleaned at 3:30 in the afternoon it should be completed as early as possible, and the breakfast brought in the morning was nice, but should have a freshly made pot of coffee and a little fresh fruit. A restaurant available 7 days a week at the Hotel would be very nice. And the room should be sound proofed so the singing and piano playing at the bar, plus screaming patrons are not heard in the room when trying to sleep. The bones are there, it just needs someone to manage it properly. Hopefully the Spa will be open soon
