A quirky place for a short stay in Dubai
Relaxing 2 nights away from the hustle and bustle of Dubai. We arrived from the airport at 1am and were quickly checked in and taken to our cabin. It retained the charm of its era and was huge and very quiet. The ship is being refurbished slowly but we loved the fact that it was not too busy. Convenience store was just across from our cabin. Room service was reasonable value and of a high standard. The outdoor restaurant was a great place to have lunch. The tour of the ship was informative - a real gem. It's not actually too far from attractions in Dubai but we just wanted to soak up the atmosphere of the QE2 itself and didn't leave until check-out. Felt like we had had a cruise even though we hadn't moved. We loved it!

    A charming and unusual experience
A great experience for those interested in history. She is a wonderful specimen and well worth it. Our room was comfortable and clean. The food and service are outstanding and there is a real sense of pride amongst the staff in the QE2’s heritage. I loved my stay! The tour was informative and Christopher is a charming guide. Highly recommended for an unusual experience.

    QE2 supper club
All was great until bathroom was cleaned. My own travel size shampoo, shower gel and Clinique facial soap were thrown away by staff with no explanation as to who or why was given. Stayed here several times now with no problems in the past. Stayed 3 nights over the National day break - came for Be bop a Lula show and supper club - superb evening

An icon of the seas with history older than UAE
Great to stay on this iconic holiday destination and an icon of the seas with such great history. It's obvious that a lot of work has went into bringing this ship to Dubai and setting up as a hotel and lots about it is very good. However, it is a bit out of the way, but again there is lots of buying and development work going on in the area, so I think that soon it will be tab the centre of a lot of other attractions and things to do. The Golden Lion bar needs a spruce up, and to be made non smoking, with the smell of stale smoke taken out of it. The other bars were nice but just didn't seem to be that lively and have that many people in them, but then the whole hotel seems to be sparkly populated with guests and patrons. Hopefully this will change in time, and it's obvious that there is still work being done to bring a 50 year old ship up to the standard of the new modern hotel standards elsewhere in Dubai. The staff were all super friendly and extremely helpful, especially Ayisha at reception. like everywhere in Dubai, alcohol is very expensive in this hotel but they do have a good range of drinks on offer. The reception building as well as the older and more original areas of the ship do need to modernisation, and with the right design team I'm sure this can be achieved and keep this icon preserved as an historic hotel which fits in with the Dubai standard. Oe note, there were no toiletries supplied by the hotel, so make sure to bring shower gell, soap, shampoo etc. !
