    Wonderfully different, well located
Unique, comfortable, fun, friendly and different place to stay. Every room decorated differently, clean, quiet, well equipped including kitchenettes with coffee, tea and hot chocolate provided, friendly staff, strong wifi. No TVs but don't need one as there's so much else to do. Happy hour every night so you get to know the staff and other guests. In a great location amongst the Newtown / Camperdown community with everything in walking distance. Go up the street and turn left into Missenden St to catch bus 412 to the city; turn right to the Alfred Hotel (good, cheap food, and TVs), further along is the hospital, university buildings and finally to King St with shops, banks, pubs, restaurants - all you could need. Or, walk down Marsden St, turn left into Church St, after a few steps turn right into Hamilton Lane and at the end, over the road you will find The Acre - a brilliant conversion of a bowls club into a cafe, restaurant, community veggie garden! If you keep walking up Church St you come out again at King St - turn right and cross the road, you will come to the fabulous Thai Pothong restaurant - great food, decor and excellent service (best to pre book). Further along is the Newtown railway station - only 3 stops to town. Amazing cake shop in Australia St. Busy and friendly cafes in Fowler St opposite the oval beside The Acre. This hotel puts you right amongst everything happening in this friendly and interesting part of Sydney. Can't wait to stay again.

Great location! Liked the check in/check out process, was really easy. Staff were really nice and helpful. Room designs were cool and different. Unfortunately design beat out functionality...our room was uncomfortably dark in the name of ‘mood lighting’ and one light fixture was hung really low in a narrow walkway that my partner kept banging their head on. Room was also not very clean when we checked in (bathroom and toilet especially). We stayed for a whole week and prefer not to get housekeeping everyday. We picked a day mid trip to get it, but were dissappinted that they didn’t change our sheets/remake the bed. Overall it was fine, for what we paid I would say it was really good! I don’t think I’d stay there again though.

Quirky and Unique Hotel with Modern Features
Our stay at The Collectionist was fantastic! The hotel is really unique, each room is different. When you arrive, you get to look at the available rooms and then choose which one to stay in! We loved this, it felt so personal. The room was beautiful and we even received a free upgrade, so we also had a little balcony which was nice. The kitchen was a great feature, as it meant we could have meals at “home” when we wanted to. My only tip would be to supply a toaster as well as the kettle and coffee machine! The pillows were perfect (I meant to see what they were and buy one for myself) however I found the bed uncomfortable, my friend disliked the pillows and loved the bed though, so each to their own I guess! I love the styling, it made our stay feel very luxurious. I also really enjoyed the concierge, he was really helpful and quirky, which matched the hotel vibe perfectly. There was some kinda of fruit bread each morning and happy hour each night, all included. Getting in and out was a breeze, they text you the code for the front door and then setup a code for your apartment door: no keys needed! I would love to stay here again and experience a different room.

This hotel is super unique and I loved it, Every room is different with its own vibe and the staff was super friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the carpet was super soft. If I ever come back to Sydney I would absolutely stay here again.
