Very Good 8.0
Stayed here as it's close to Bath City Centre but a good base also for walking in the Cotswolds. We did two walks straight from the hotel, and a day in Bath City, travelled in by bus; 15 minute ride, £4.50 return - much easier than driving in. Staff were very welcoming and knowledgeable about how to get around the city. Room was warm, clean and beds comfortable, but the shower took 5 minutes to warm up each morning (they did warn us!) and then difficult to control. Breakfast was excellent - buffet style, including champagne, plus several options for a coked breakfast. We went down at 9 am the first morning - very busy, several people had to wait for a table - but second day just after 8 we were the only gusts down. WiFi adequate (dropped out occasionally), and ample parking. Easy to find. Just off the A46/A4 busy roundabout but were not aware of the traffic, even though we had a room at the front. We were on the second floor - no lift as it;s a listed building, which didn't bother us but might for less frail guests.

Not for business guests
If you are looking for some where to sleep and nothing else then you might be ok, this is a bed and breakfast not a hotel, so as business traveller it was completely unsuitable. No shower, breakfast started at 8, no other food available, poor Wi-Fi In rooms and room tiny and not suitable to even catch up on emails from. Pillow protectors were filthy with yellow stains, dead flowers and green water in the lounge room and a very average breakfast. Front door locked at 10, back door didn't shut well and I found it open several times leaving me feeling apprehensive and not at all relaxed. Will not return

Beautiful Hotel, helpful staff and great value
Beautiful Hotel in a beautiful setting. The staff couldn't be more helpful and polite. The room was clean and in good condition (my only vague grumble about the room was the poor reception on the TV, it only had 3 channels... 3,4 and 5) The choice for breakfast and the quality of the breakfast is fantastic. There is little around the local area in the way of quality restaurants, however the center of Bath is a 30 minute walk or 10 min bus journey (this hotel is on a main bus route) If we were to visit Bath again we would seek out this Hotel

Excellent service
We stayed overnight to avoid an early start getting to Bath in the morning. I was really pleased with the price I paid. The hotel is lovely, although a little tired in places but no doubt I would have paid twice as much if it wasn't! Unfortunately our plan of a good nights sleep before a busy day was a bit scuppered because the people in the room above us stopped my daughter getting to sleep until well past 1 and even woke me up at 4:30 in the morning. They only seemed to be moving around (as opposed to jumping and banging) so I am not sure what steps the hotel could take to reduce this noise. The location was very good, although not in the city centre it was still convenient to get to Bath. The breakfast was really lovely and cooked freshly to order. The staff were exceptional both friendly and helpful and a real credit to the hotel. We visit Bath relatively regularly and would definitely come here again if it remained the same price and just hope the guests above went to bed earlier or weren't so heavy footed.
