Room Service Charge
The Ned has introduced a 5% room service charge - which eefectively inflates the rate you pay by that amount. I quieries it and was told it was 'discretionery' - but the tone of the response made it feel like it wasnt...."The accommodation service charge is a 5% charge applied to the room rate per night. This is the industry average charge for London. All of the charge is distributed to our staff and this change will help us to ensure that we’re a competitive employer. What the Ned are saying is that they dont pay their staff a competitive wage and need guests to top it up. That is disappointing

I loved the fact that the room was stocked with wonderful Cowshed products as well as a flatiron, electrical adapters, umbrella, and all of the makings of a proper English tea. Room service arrived every day within 20 minutes. This is a wonderful experience and value.

Room doors are closing loudly, so expect to be awaken from early morning when other guests leave their rooms. No lie in possible. Staff was either unwilling or unable to help, and rather rude in general, with the exception of managers. Example would be before check-in, when asked by email for restaurant recommendations the ones in their hotel we did not get an answer. Note that rooftop bar/pool is not accessible for hotel guests anymore, only members.

Suite was lovely as was the hotel in general. Staff were rude and arrogant. Their attitude towards paying customers was well below what I would expect from a 5 star hotel. They should visit a real 5 star hotel to understand what customer service actually is!
