Amazing stay!
I can't say enough good things about this amazing property and the service! The location is great and very Central. The rooms are very clean, modern and roomy. The best part about the stay was the service though. I mean wow! From the moment we arrived, we were taken care of so well and I want to give a special thank you to Mr. Lunga who was amazing and made sure my wife and I were taken care of. He is very good at his job and should certainly be considered for a managerial role there!

Constant noise from maintenance staff
The stay was comfortable but unfortunately they had a lot of maintenance workers on sight repairing apartments next door to mine so constant noise throughout daily

Mxed feelings.
We stayed in the Onyx before. The spacious and well furnished rooms remained a delight and the breakfast is still quite good. Our room this time was directly above the bar on the fourth floor. One some evenings there was loud “parties” going on till after midnight (even though covid rules did not really allow this). This unfortunately impacted on our comfort and enjoyment of our stay. We highly recommend visitors to insist not to be close to the bar area. We are unlikely to return to Onyx due to this.

Give it a miss.
The worst stay I have had in Cape Town. Mixed usage accommodation does not work. Especially with an arrogant management complement. Dirty rooms smoke filled passages, broken cupboards and a non self catering kitchen although advertised as one. The last straw was the bottle opener which was the property of the restaurant below who had to be called to your room each time you opened a bottle. If this is the last place with accommodation available in Cape Town. Change your destination. Do not stay here.
