My third stay. Really good in every aspect apart from one thing - the sound quality on the TV sets in the rooms is dismal

Fair 4.0
I travel regularly, have stayed in many better and less costly hotels in Birmingham, and would not stay here again. Though staff are friendly and helpful, its clean and has a good location, it is overrated. I may have just been unlucky though - I didn't get much sleep and I usually have no issues sleeping. The 'king size' bed was actually 2 small singles together and the gap was very noticeable and really uncomfortable. Also, while the room was clean and modern, it felt sterile - not at all cosy, which would have been nice on a rainy evening. The breakfast was also disappointing - while there was a lot of choice, it was poorly cooked. The hash browns were pale and floppy, the scrambled eggs had a very stiff and dense texture and were strangely tasteless, bacon was congealed and not crispy, croissants were dry and baked too long. I ended up leaving most of it and bought some food in a local cafe. Also, the hotel makes much of having a swimming pool and gym. I may have missed the mention of the location in the write up - but the pool is actually a mile down the road so one can't just go there from within the hotel, which is inconvenient as getting there and back therefore takes a fair amount of time. This matters if you travel on business and meant that could not use it (which was a shame as I really fancied a swim) All in all: a disappointing stay not to be repeated.

Exceptional 10.0
Very nice smart hotel
Very nice hotel with brilliant food really. Breakfast was really good, sausages especially. Rooms were nice, although the windows were very thin and narrow. Bed comfortable and everywhere looked very nice and clean. Service was nice and friendly and very quick. Will stay here again.

Exceptional 10.0
Overall great
Clean, new, good service, no problems.

Good 6.0
No cellphone connection
Very disappointed, I surveyed other customers staying at this hotel who experienced similar problems to myself i.e. phone connection unavailable over a range of cell providers. I have booked rooms at every 4* hotels in Birmingham and have on rare occasions experience poor cell phone connection but never zero connection However excellent parking, good location and great breakfast staff. I found the room pleasant but basic led by dreary corridors
