Hotels in Civic Center

The hotels in this part of the city mainly include budget and mid-range options, with many located in the neighborhood of Tenderloin, where you can find some of the best hotel rates in Civic Center. The small area of Japantown is home to some fantastic hotels. Hotel Kabuki is a mid-range Japanese-themed hotel that has great little touches like a koi pond and sliding shoji screens in every room, and receives some of the highest Civic Center hotel reviews. Another 3-star hotel in Civic Center is the Holiday Inn Civic Center. It features great rooms, and lots of amenities including balconies, an outdoor pool, and fitness center.

Things to see in Civic Center

One of the must-see sights in Civic Center is City Hall. Built with a classic European style in mind it’s easily one of the most impressive buildings in the city (so much so that it has featured in many movies over the years). Here you can take a guided tour from one of the knowledgeable docents, or a self-guided tour if you prefer. Of course, with a stay in Civic Center you have plenty of opportunity to enjoy one of the many shows. SF Jazz is perfect for—you guessed it—jazz lovers, although with so many fantastic performances lined up here, any music lover would have a great time. If you prefer serene strings to boisterous brass then you could opt for the San Francisco Symphony, with over 220 classical music performances taking place each year. Another great attraction here is the Asian Art Museum with an incredible range of artwork and objects from Asia, spanning thousands of years.

Good for couples

With its abundance of cultural attractions and things to do, Civic Center is absolutely perfect for couples–providing ample romantic opportunities. When you book a hotel in Civic Center San Francisco, you’ll be in an ideal location with entertainment right on your doorstep. You can enjoy a romantic evening at the opera with your significant other, or take in one of the many fantastic theater productions. Of course, these brilliant artistic attractions are not solely for couples; anyone with an appreciation for art and performance will enjoy this area.

How to get to Civic Center

As part of a large city, you have plenty of travel options available to you when planning your trip to San Francisco’s Civic Center. If you’re choosing to drive, Route 101 goes straight through the neighborhood, and Interstate 80 is just a few blocks away. This provides the ideal route if you’re travelling from nearby cities such as Oakland, Sacramento, or San Jose— all of which are less than 2 hours away. There are also good train services (including Amtrak long-distance routes) operating in San Francisco, and the San Francisco International Airport serves numerous worldwide and domestic destinations. Travelling to Civic Center from other parts of the city is easy thanks to the city’s excellent public transport system, with various metro lines, cable cars, and buses available.
