Disappointing lack of consideration in the handling of the check-in “passport return” at the Disney Welcome Center. We are seniors and to experience the heart-attack moment of high levels of worry anxiety was way more than we anticipated. Not to mention, the extreme inconvenience of tracking down the property to get someone to understand that the passport was not returned by the Disney Welcome Center Sheraton (DWCS) check-in staff.
The confusion is with the first DWCS staff taking the passport to make a copy, who never returned to check on us, but kept checking-in other guests. Only to be greeted by the second DWCS staff securing our information, handling the luggage to the hotel, and providing an envelope packet with the property’s keys, breakfast vouchers/information, then sent us off. In the mist, we were extremely “happy” because of the expedite attention and being on-site that we followed her instructions and left to shop/eat without realizing that the passport was not returned in the envelope packet.
The property had the passport for 3 whole days and did not leave a message light on one of the room’s 3 telephones, nor did they slip a note under the door asking us to report to the front desk for the passport. The luggage was delivered to the room, so why not the passport?
We discovered the missing passport when checking into the Tokyo hotel. Luckily, it wasn’t late evening, so we quickly returned to Tokyo Disneyland in the haze of the work crowd.
