Room was sufficient and suited our needs. We were grateful for the two bathrooms. Hotel is convenient for the ferry. Continental breakfast left a lot to be desired. It consisted of boiled eggs, toast, pancakes and ham. My biggest issue was the parking. The lot is too small for the amount of rooms and it can be hard to maneuver a large vehicle. If you arrive back from a day out later in the evening itâs difficult to find a spot. Iâm not sure if there was overflow across the street or if people were just using another lot.
We enjoyed our stay at the Clarion, we had an amazing view of the lake and the beach. It was an effortless check-in. The ferry was right next-door. We literally walked over and caught the ferry to Mackinaw Island. Although the furnishings couldâve used a little updated They were in good condition. The beds were very comfortable. The only thing that I did not like. Was they used extension cords to plug in a lot of their appliances and our extension cord went out through the night, so our refrigerator stopped working throughout the night, but other than that we had her amazing time and we will be back.
The top of the door was broken so you couldnât do an extra lock. The shower head wasnât great and the pillows were smaller. The pool was not heated and super cold.
The food choices for breakfast were very lacking. One choice for fruit, the rest was all carbohydrates. We ended up going to the Toast a go go buffet which was nice. The pool was colder than the water in the lake, my legs were frozen for a few hours after several attempts to go in the pool.
It was gross. The smell was covered up pee with pine sol... So gross. The room has dirty torn carpet. Very old and worn out. The bathroom fan was loud, sounded like it was landing a plane. The lights didn't have a cover. The fridge was on the fritz and made a million noises. Which made us turn it off. So it was pointless. I could hear every single whisper outside the door. Do not recommend until they invest in their property and upgrade.
