The room was great with nice bunk beds and Screens. However, we could not sit in the lower level bunk beds because of the upper bed and there was no place to sit. Otherwise, it is a great place to stay.
Our second stay here in the same room.
The location is very peaceful and rural and the hotel is well located for trips to Ripon, The Forbidden Corner, Fountains Abbey and Deer Park, Grantly Hall and Brimham Rocks.
The beer garden is lovely and parking very near to our room was really convenient. The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom and shower modern and spotless.
What prevented a five star rating was the room had an adjoining door and the guest in the next bedroom snored. In addition there was a lot of pacing about in the room upstairs the next morning ( maybe staff remaking the room?) and the ceiling was creaky. Also, for the price of the overnight accommodation, without breakfast included, we would have appreciated ceramic coffee/ tea mugs rather than plastic.
These points, however, would not stop us from returning here.
This is a relaxed small hotel - a bit like a guest house / hotel with good dining and bar for locals. Sawley is very convenient for Fountains Abbey but isolated - a car is essential. The Spanish chef was very good, as was the room andvthe staff attentive
Fantastic place to stay But with some issues in my mind Room was very clean and comfortable with some very modern touches Then spoiled by plastic cups only two small biscuits very small tv then having to pay for breakfast I would expect a room at ÂŁ178 would include breakfast
Staff were very nice
Parking handy for rooms
Modern, spotlessly clean accommodation and super- comfy beds! There was even a TV in the bathroom! Lovely country pub and beer garden. Restaurant a bit on the expensive side, but the quality and presentation of the food was really good. The take away fish and chips were half the price of the eat in and were delicious. Would definitely stay here again without hesitation.
We had a great one night stay. The room was clean, very modern and with high quality finish. Our daughter loved the high sleeper bed which was very safe.
Convenient location for Brimham Rocks and Fountains Abbey.
Plenty of parking onsite.
We had a great dinner in the pub and our breakfast was delicious too.
Friendly staff, would definitely stay again.
Stayed for five nights in an excellent room - first rate facilities, esp bathroom. Slight criticism: bed linen and towels unappealing colour and towels rather thin.
Pub warm and comfortable, very friendly, staff helpful, excellent breakfasts. Dined in twice. Appreciated the special offer on steak night but winter menu otherwise rather dull, limited and overpriced. Over all an enjoyable stay but not outstanding value for money.
Tanya, Estelle, Tim and the Scouse supporter were so friendly and helpful. The accommodation was immaculately clean and well maintained. Food was lovely and reasonably priced. We definitely plan to revisit soon. The only improvement I would suggest is to have ironing facilities in the room for guestâs convenience. Thanks to all for such a great stay!
