All was great except broken blinds with no curtains. Definitely need black out curtains. Doorknob was fidgety so key had to be manipulated to open. Also our second key didnât even belong to that room. Overall we enjoyed the comfort and convenience of the locale of the hotel.
Wasnât happy that there was no WiFi available in the room. Also, to walk to another hotel got our keys wasnât appealing either. The room itself is lovely and conveniently located.
Loved the room and location but had a big issue with the air conditioner. The owners addressed the issue very quickly and moved us to a great room at the 1661 inn for the remainder of our stay.
They were great addressing our issue and would highly recommend this place.
The room smelled like mold, some unidentifiable black, fuzzy thing was found on the floor, the shade in the bathroom had no way to be adjusted down for privacy AND someone was outside the window for hours while I waited uncomfortably in bed for him to move so I could get out of bed.
We have been to Block Island many times by sailboat, private plane and ferry in the past but not for the past 17 years. It is a great place to visit and the Ashley House is on an excellent location for access to the ferry, town, restaurants, beach, etc. The rooms were big and nice.
The cost was high but competitive with other properties for our dates. There is a door on each end of the building to get up to the rooms. One end has a combination lock and the door other end has no lock. The stairways up to the rooms are dark at night (I brought my flashlight with me when we went out). These two items need to be addressed.
There is an Ice bucket in the room but no machine. Wandered around outside under the second level rooms and determined one establishment had the ice. A little info on the tv remote would also have been nice. Two instead of one chair in the room would have been good. No internet access so you have to go to the affiliated hotel (1661 Inn) or the library was suggested. In this day and age internet access should be available even if for a fee.
I have traveled over 2 million air miles and obviously stayed in many hotels so I have some comparisons and I think a few small changes would make this place a 5 star experience.
Despite itâs location in a busy part of town, the room was quiet and very comfortable. The room was clean, with all of the creature comforts, and air conditioned! Staff were courteous and accommodating.
The room was great. clean sheets and most important very clean bathroom!!!! The location was the best, don't forget to check in at 1661 first to get key!!!! a little walk. and the restrurany downs stairs was delicious.
Beautiful island to relax, walk, hike, bike and eat. Ashley House, a part of 1616 Inn properties had very Friendly and very clean and great spot in center of little town so walking to restaurants, shops were easy.
