We're returning guests after 10 years. Charming with a wonderful location. Its a bit 'worn' and a new mattress is needed. My 'surprise' Mothers Day flower delivery was waiting and a great joy!

6/10 Good

Wonderful location across from Reynolds Square and a two minute walk to our dinner at Olde Pink House. Wine and cheese happy hour was a nice touch. Unfortunately the climate control left much to be desired, and our four poster bed was in pitiful shape (one of the posts had apparently broken and barely stayed in place).

Such a cute place to stay! The staff are so friendly and they even host a daily happy hour in the lobby (wine & cheese) along with coffee and cookies in the evenings. The rooms are clean and decorated very southern style. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful spot

Beautiful, clean historic hotel with wine and cheese in the evenings and polite, helpful staff. Valet parking is pricey (parking is costly in Savannah historic district) and our room caught all the street noise throughout the night. Bed and pillows could use an upgrade. Walkable to everything though!

Classic comfort in a beautiful place.

My wife and I prefer to stay in historic hotels whenever we can. We love the character, the classic comfort and ambiance, and the beautiful location on Reynolds Square. Our stay was very relaxing and enjoyable. The hotel offered a wine and cheese gathering in the lobby on Friday evening. They also served up fresh, hot cookies in the evenings. This hotel was a classic that lived up to our expectations. The location was close to all we wanted to do. This was much more enjoyable for us as compared to a more “modern” hotel. The staff were great and very friendly. They treated us well and with respect. The valet and bellman were kind and friendly.

Great spot - perfect location. Don’t think we have

Who’s actually. Hotel is in a great spot if you like historic buildings, and we do :-) our only complaint and it wasn’t a huge one, was that we got a lot of noise out of the parking garage next-door to us on Saturday night. But the staff was very friendly. It’s clean their personable. Will definitely stay here again.

Nice place - well located

Other than the bed being a bit noisy and that they could have had a water bottle in the room, we'd give it top marks. Close to everything...

Southern class

We had a nice stay in the Planters Inn. The service is top-notch and the hotel is very beautiful. The furnishings are a bit dated, but in a classy way; a bit like a wealthy grandmothers’s home! The location can’t be beat; just steps away from excellent restaurants and the water.

2/10 Poor

Extremely disappointing stay from start to finish.

Upon arrival, our room was in poor condition—dusty, with a strong odor. The bed was broken, the ceiling had water damage, curtains were torn, the carpet was stained, and there was visible mold in the bathroom. There was no way to maintain a consistent temperature. When I asked about the smell, a staff member casually said the entire sixth floor has an ongoing odor problem. Only a few staff—Carl, Fitzgerald, and Mike—were kind and helpful. Unfortunately, most were not. Deion didn’t look up from what he was watching on the computer while eating at the front desk, then scolded me for not knowing where to get ice. Patrick was similarly dismissive, reminding me I booked through a third-party—as if that excused the poor service. I explained again that I tried to book direct, but the website kept failing. I called the hotel on March 6, 2025, hoping to book by phone. The receiver was picked up and laid on the counter for over 15 minutes while staff chatted. The phone rang multiple times, and no one greeted me or the other callers. Eventually, someone picked up, briefly spoke, then put me on hold again before telling me to call back. I had no choice but to use a third-party. Should I have booked elsewhere? Absolutely. But this was a special trip—eight friends from across the U.S. celebrating a birthday—and we all agreed to stay at Planters Inn. None of us would return. This experience was frustrating, disorganized, and far below expectations. I would not recommend staying here.
